I purchased GROUPONS for this chain, so my husband and I decided to try this place. With a $10 GROUPON, I figured we could EACH get a HUGE sundae, with lots of toppings - the perfect ending to a 95F day. Boy was I wrong!First of all, my husband and I had never been to a Cold Stone Creamery before. Expecting an ice cream parlor, we excitedly entered last night, to purchase huge sundaes. My husband just wanted a plain old hot fudge sundae. What ice cream place ANYWHERE cannot make one of these? Cold Stone Creamery could not, that's where. The girl at the counter told my husband "We don't do things like that here". Things! Things! It's an ice cream sundae, not a PICASSO. How can you have ice cream and hot fudge, but not be able to make a sundae? You figure it out! Eventually, after much coercion, the girl "AGREED" to place 3 different flavors into a cup and squirt a small amount of fudge on them. Dare she also add whipped cream or nuts? No, of course not!So I thought I would go the "simple" route and order something pictured right on the wall. Nope, that didn't work either! I pointed to a picture on the wall, above the sign which said LARGE $6 plus change. But when I told the girl behind the counter that I wanted the picture, just not made with vanilla ice cream, she nearly had a fit! (Now I don't know about you but whenever I've gone to Friendly's Baskin-Robbins, Dairy Queen, Kohr's, CARVEL, MAGGIE MOO'S, etc, etc., I've ALWAYS ordered a flavor of ice cream.) Not at Cold Stone apparently.Again I questioned the girl. She told me "We make custom creations and blend-ins here". What? Again, I am NOT buying a designer sofa, or having drapes custom made. All I wanted was the concoction pictured on the wall! (I don't dare use the term sundae, because I was infomred that they don't do sundaes here!)Well, make a long story short, I ended up with something which SUPPOSEDLY had all of the ingredients as the item pictured on the wall, but which looked NOTHING like the picture on the wall. And because I insisted on not having vanilla ice cream, I was told that I could substitute banana ice cream, and that all the ingredients would be blended into it. Yes, the ingredients were supposedly blended in, but I couldn't actually TASTE anything. I received a greyish round blob in a paper bowl. What the heck! There were no rivers of fudge and caramel, no pieces of brownie or bites of nut, as discernible on the picture. And for this "creation" I had to PAY extra money.OK so this is a yuppie hang-out, that THINKS it is better than all other ice cream parlors. And yes, I DO get the concept of a blend-in. (After all, they were created by Thomas Sweet over 30 years ago in New Brunswick!) But I have NEVER had anything as bland and crummy) not to mention visually unappealling) as this monstrosity. So skip the $7 "Gourmet" creation here, and ride up route 35N to Friendly's, where you will cheerily get a hot fudge sundae, banana split, or whatever else your heart desires, for much much less money. And leave Cold Stone Creamery to all the millionaires living in Holmdel, who truly beleive that an ice cream cake is worth $75.

By far the best sub you will ever get - don't confuse this family run establishment with Jersey Mike's. Jersey Mike's is a Subway type shop. This is the real deal.
