Find out what Fast Food restaurants to try in Hilo. The landscape of Hilo, on the Big Island of Hawaii, is diverse. Beaches of black, gray, brown and white sand give way to mountains and dramatic waterfalls. Hilo's Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo is the only U.S. zoo in a tropical rainforest. A day trip away are snow-capped Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, with observatories near 11,000 feet on both mountains, and Kilauea Caldera, an active volcano. Back in town are a farmer's market, restaurants, shopping and banyan trees planted by celebrities and politicians.

Absolutely the best place for ice cream (technically vegan frozen dessert) anywhere. Flavors that explode in your mouth, Unexpected taste detours like Hunky Monkey, and Sticky Salty Nut, along with standards that completely change how you've thought of them before (Chocolate Peanut Butter, Backyard Lemon and Double Chocolate). There are no words to convey the joy of sampling different flavors and then the challenge of making a choice. Doesn't hurt that Captain America is behind the counter either!

Millie's Deli and Snack Shop, right across from Hilo's Ice Pond is right at the entrance to Keaukaha and a perfect place to pick up lunch wraps. Looking like a retro soda fountain, you can either eat here or take out. Our favorites are the wraps although there are other types of sandwiches. We like the kalua, veggie, and the sweet chili chicken wraps the best. Also check out their desserts. The lemon bars are 'ono (delicious).

if you are flying out from lihue airport you don't have much options for the food :). This place is the only place which give you good options with decent airport price. We took the chicken burger, hummus sandwitch and capers island sandwich, the portions are good as per the price and so is the taste. There were no other option for the food so can't compare with any other airport food place :).I will recommend if you are picky on food get something before you clear the security or enjoy the food here in this bar :). I hope you also like the food. i didnt order any drinks but other folks were having and all looked nice hi hi :).aloha

Small restaurant with friendly service, and great food. We had the spicy dog which was very good. Also tried the house made 'carrot dog' which was also good. This was actually just a carrot with great flavor in place of the hot dog so great for a vegan option. They also have veggie dogs that are made with soy. SO MANY TOPPINGS! The house made mac n cheese was really good. You can also byob but the have soda and waters available. Worth checking out, just a few steps from the historic Hilo bayfront area!
