Hot Tamale Heaven

Reviewed By sherrilleg

Stopped by the original location and couldn’t get the tamale pie, so we drove to the newest place with a patio and indoor seating. Very clean and good music to go with good food. We had the sampler platter with a fried tamale, traditional tamales, amazing hot wings and fries. We also had the tamale pie-my personal favorite! The tea is SWEET. No unsweet tea available. I’ve had better tamales but these are worth a stop.

Gino's Hamburgers

Gino’s is the one restaurant I have to go to whenever I’m visiting my hometown. They have provided consistent food since before I can remember. The catfish sandwich is amazing. It comes with one piece of fish, but if you ask for a large, you’ll get two. It’s not on the menu though. The coleslaw on it is the best and I always add cheese for additional flavor. Gino’s is also known for its burgers, which are great with chili and coleslaw added. The drive-through can be slow if there are several cars. However, that’s fine because I always get hot, fresh food. On my last visit, I asked if they had lemonade. The lady said yes and I ordered it. When she passed me the drink, I asked why it was pinkish. She told me it was pink lemonade. That would have been nice to know before I ordered it. There was also something floating in it, so that’s the reason for the 4 star review. Next time, I’ll just drink something at home lol.

When I come to town on business this is the only place I go. Yes I love wings. But this is a great LOCAL place that serves great wings. The lady at the front... I'm not sure if she is the owner or not but she is the only one I have ever see taking your order. She has always treated me right. If you are expecting Buffalo Wild Wings and you need that type of spot... just don't go. This is just a great local place the serves wings fresh and hot their way. They have a good handful of sauces. I personally love the the spicy bbq , honey gold and something like Asian zing that has a great kick to it.Their combo comes with wings, fries, canned drink, ranch dressing with celery and carrots. NO blue cheese here. The fries are fairly good, hot crunchy and not greasy. One thing I have noticed but have never tried. When waiting for my to go orders I have noticed people coming in and only getting pie. I'm not sure but she may not have it all the time but when she does it seem she has quite a following for it.
