Steak 'n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company's name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word "steak" stood for
It had been a few years since we ate inside this location but we recently visited for an early dinner. It took a little bit to be seated even though it wasn't very busy. Perhaps three or four tables with three servers on the floor. Once we were seated it was 10 minutes before our server came over to get a drink order, then it was almost 15 minutes before getting our drinks and placing our food order. Then when the food came it was barely warm; really no telling how long it sat there. Our server was very nice and friendly but there was no apparent reason for how slow things were going. Another table that came in after us ending up leaving. Even waiting to pay seemed to take quite a while. The worst thing though was how dirty it was inside the dining room and ladies restroom. Unfortunately I didn't really notice until after we ordered our food so we stayed. But the floor was a wreck - trash and large pieces of food everywhere. Our booth was sticky and some mysterious glob of stuff was over by the condiments. We were there over an hour and never noticing anyone attempting to clean anything. Trash in the ladies room was overflowing with a pile around the bin. Sink and mirror looked like it had been days since they were cleaned.Being there for an early dinner, it clearly wasn't a crazy dinner rush leaving the place looking that way. Perhaps they had a large lunch crowd, but with no signs of anyone cleaning up it appeared they just don't care.

Had read good things about Wingstop. Excellent wings. Deep-fried, crispy. One of our party had original, mild flavor. Another had 5 teriyaki and 5 Cajun. I had 5 Cajun and 5 Louisiana. All of us thought the wings were top notch. Meaty, cooked properly, right amount of heat. The menu lists the heat by the number of pepper symbols on the menu. Seasoned fried were tasty. One diner thought the slaw was good. About 10 dollars for 10 wings. Wings is all they do and they do it well. Highly recommended.
I've been going here for year. As other reviewers have stated, they have great selection on spices, herb and teas. Anytime I have small amounts of ingredients for a recipe, I appreciate the ability to purchase the spices in small amounts. I've eaten at the deli over the years - it's okay, but could use some new menu items. Same for the smoothies. I rarely buy something there because of the amount of sugar...some of the smoothies even have ice cream in them! Not what I expect from a 'health food store'. They do have fresh wheatgrass juice (if they haven't run out), but otherwise, It's hard to find something that is JUST fresh juice drinks.
