The dawgs are as good as the former Hot Dog Shop on Jefferson Street (R.I.P). Another plus is that they are dirt cheap - $1.29 for the standard onions, chili sauce (fantastic), and pickle dawg and only $1 for a soda. Thus, under $5 bucks for a quick, filling, and great tasting dinner/lunch. Have not tried their fries but many people get them with gravy. Decor is spartan but adequate to eat a few dawgs at. Just wish they served beer.

As in all the Brighton Shops the dogs are very small as they make them in Bridgewater PA and ship them to their shops. The one difference is that this particular shop will be a slice of pickle on your hot dog as they are copying the old hot dog shop that was in town. I don't know what it is but in this particular shop the hot dogs have a after taste that I can't explain. My advice is that though this is a hot dog shop stick with the burgers.
Barnhart's Soft Serve is conveniently located along route 38 just south of the Butler Reservoir. In addition to ice cream, Barnhart's also offer a variety of fast food items and a few diner items. You may sit inside, outside or get it to go. Ice cream is very reasonably priced. Prices listed on the sign includes tax. Portion sizes are very comparable to other ice cream parlors. They offer a variety of soft serve ice cream treats in addition to hard ice cream. The only con with this place is the young lady who took my order, cash payment, then proceeded to reach into a bucket of candy for my Z-Swirl with her bare hands which she just touched cash with. Bottom Line: Highly recommend visiting Barnhart's for an excellent ice cream treat.

Atmosphere is nice - literally of a firehouse but the subs were no better than any "mom & pop" local shop - in fact, not nearly as good. They will give Subway a run for their money as they are better than Subway.Bill, it is distressing to hear your recent visit did less than absolutely impress. We take your concerns seriously and will be passing them along to the private owner to review. We deeply appreciate your feedback and hope you give us another chance at making you a fan! Where to eat Italian food in Butler: The Best Restaurants and Bars

My husband only had 15-20 minutes to spare so since it was Lenten season, we decided to have LJS's fish on a Thursday early evening. Apparently, the restaurant did not anticipate to be as busy as they were and although the few employees hustled to deliver orders, we had to wait 25 minutes for our order. We almost cancelled it, but were starved so we were late for our commitment. I did share this experience with the Regional Manager, Michelle and she was very apologetic and promised to discuss with the staff/management. We will definitely eat there again when we have more time to spare. Our expectation were for fast food to be available faster than 25 minutes.
