Sat in restaurant and had cod and chips as they had sold out of our favourite fish Haddock. The cod and chips was lovely and the batter light. I was impressed as skin removed from the fish too. Definitely recommend Tateâs.

Good reputation but had briefly closed as owner retiring- since reopened under new management . Still popular but on our last visit I felt only average fare.Freshly cooked to order with other choices ( salad etc) instead of chips available.

Popped in for a quick bag of chips for lunch, this place has seating, chips were fresh, a little under done for me, filled a hole, nothing special, beware the vinegar on the tables it's very strong (no complaints) small size is okay for a young one, teenager and above, i'd advise medium and above.
