Genuine good German food. Excellent snitzels, great fresh salads, love the dill dressing. Nice traditional dining area overlooking the fields (and deer). Known locally as "the truck stop," don't let that put you off, it isn't at all like a US truck stop cafe. This is gret family dining at reasonable prices.

You know when you are dealing with an untrained wait staff when they start clearing empty tables even though you've been waiting to order for 15 minutes. We ordered a couple of beers to begin with as we were getting suspicious of the place. We ordered. Another 15 minutes later, the waitress come out to tell us that they are out of the beer we ordered. We re-ordered, another 10 minutes (after she came out to chat and collect the bill from two other tables as we watched our beer sit on the tray and get warm) we got our beer. Not rude- just clueless. It looked like a nice place. we will try again. It's so important to train your waitstaff....... there really is a technique- not amateur hour. Good Luck.

Sorbas is one of our favorite restaurants in Wittlich. The food is always excellent! The menu is huge and it is always a challenge to decide what to eat because there are so many good options. Unlike some of the other Greek restaurants in the area, Sorbas has a separate non-smoking section in the indoor dining area which we appreciate. Ouzo is served with every meal, regardless if you order it or not...! Excellent vegetarian and meat dishes, as well as a kids menu. We have never needed reservations, but we tend to dine earlier than most locals. During nice weather there is a lovely beer garden and free parking.

This restaurant is one of the more expensive restaurants in Wittlich, but totally worth it! Good steak is hard to find in Germany, but this place has it! 30-40 euros per person without alcohol. The menu features quality Argentinean steaks,Kobe beef, and NY strips, as well as chicken and fish options and traditional German plates such as schnitzel. Each entree comes with a trip to the salad bar. The wine list also has good red options which are hard to find in the area. The restaurant is on the ground floor of local hotel at the end of the town pedestrian area. Great spot for a nice dinner out and excellent food!

One of my favorite places to eat when I am in town or the area. Traditional regional food with a good selection of wines. Their hours are a bit more convient then other restaurants in town. An institution. Can be tricky to find; Park at P4 and walk toward the right side of the church.

This is definitely one of the best tapas bars in Western Germany. The restaurant is super cozy with a good atmosphere, friendly service, and high-quality authentic food. And the best part: the staff never disappoints; after six years they still deliver quality just like on day one. Definitely a place to bring your friends & family.

Situated in a quiet location close to a small village.Decoration and ambiance are "classical/vintage".Welcome and staff are perfect. They take real care of their clients without being invasive. Trust the sommelier who introduces you to unknown treasures of German wine producers.Delicious food and surprising wine list are perfect.The signature dish I like best is kind of "tarte" as appetizer "Torte von rohem Rindstartar auf Rösti mit Sauerrahm und Kaviar" (potatoe-rösti with minced raw beef & sourcream topped with caviar). Soooo good and you won't forget the taste of this delicious dish...Price&quality ratio is okay.The restaurant belongs to the Waldhotel Sonnora... a good idea would be to book a room and stay for the delicious breakfast!
