A chance opportunity to eat in Weggis and it seems we chose well. Traditional setting within the hotel right alongside Lake Lucerne. Made very welcome and seated in nice table inside as the weather was not too good. Nice conservatory like setting. Service excellent. Food something to get excited about. I had Red Thai curry - asked for it be extra spicy and it was but great taste. Best Thai Curry ever - well maybe. Wife had fish goujons (ok can't remember the fancy title) but they were excellent with fresh vegetables. Desserts were good too. Of course you are in Switzerland - pricey but worth the treat.

In the Swiss-Chalet restaurant swiss cuisine with its finesse and complemented with popularities from around the world. Dishes are prepared with selected products from the region and wisely combined with specialities from afar. On two floors and four diff
They offer a fantastic brunch with a good selection of cheeses, cold cuts, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, eggs and more. And of course: free flowing champagne. The meat offered for the lunch bit was very tasty. The atmosphere is lovely. Staff is hit and miss - one elderly lady was rather rude. Not sure why they have incresed the price for brunch compared to last year, the offer looks the same to me.Dear SkdotaveThanks for this wunderful review! Sorry for the experience with our staff. We increased the price for the brunch, because we included mineral water for all the people.Best regardsJeannine & Karel NöllySwiss-Chalet Merlischachen

Weggis is more of a traditional culinary place, not up to date with vegan cuisine, but here me and my fiancée were immediately warmly welcomed by the chef de service who guaranteed us that they will be able to serve dishes to our taste. Which they totally did! The saffron risotto, as well as the tofu-veggie-coconut dish served with a perfect Rösti was an absolute delight and we were superhappy and a bit surprised how much love the chef put in our non-daily vegan dishes! We finished our meal with espressi served directly at the lake by a very charming waiter. The only slightly annoying aspect was the horrible music that was played across the bay at the rose festival for which the hotel management of course was not responsible for... We will return soon with pleasure!

The staff seems to be comprised of 1 professional and 3 students (possibly from a nearby hotel school) Eager to perform, following a learned procedure, rather than good old common sense. There is a world of difference to a seasoned hospitality pro or someone who is simply a hospitality talent and someone who is eager learn but still needs to follow instructions.I did not expect to write something about the staff, because we actually came for the food. The teasers, (greetings from the kitchen) were sensational and raised our expectations. What followed was very disappointing. The lobster bisque was too salty (which is often the case) and the salad with goat cheese was a large portion of not so fresh greens with chunks of goat cheese. The size of the portion was fortunate, because the main course consisted of two small slices of not very tender beef, more or less cold when it arrived. The main course was literally 4 bites of meat. For a hefty price tag of around 60 Swiss Francs.Dessert was fine, nothing spectacular but acceptable. Will not eat there again and will not recommend.Dear ItalianNomad, Thank you very much for your valuable feedback about your recent visit at the restaurant PRISMA. We are sorry to learn that the offered service standards were not what you expected in a Michelin stared restaurant, we apologize, that the salad was not as fresh as it should be according to your and our expectation. Unfortunately we did not have your feedback during the evening about the salty bisque and the cold main course in order to replace it with a new plate. It would be our pleasure welcoming you again to have a new and better experience.Kind regards,Moritz DuerlerDeputy General Manager

Only the best local products are served in our nicely decorated Restaurant with stunning lake & mountain views. EAT FRESH, LOCAL and SUSTAINED! Daily changing 4 course surprise menu. For a small Appetite there is a Selection of tarte flambée. In winter we
We had dinner at this place. I was informed in advanced that menu is fix but still expected more. The meal was very fresh but still boring to have a huge portion of salat, for example. Or rise could be either basmati or wildrise. In general, all was ok and the staff took into account my inquiry regarding lactose free menu for me. The view and summer day made it quite special. Maybe another menu carte would be more interesting.Dear Yanik M,Thank you for visiting our beautiful restaurant. We are sorry to hear that you expected more from our menu. Having a fresh local salad with nice local products and a homemade dressing is part of our concept you are right nothing extraordinary but healthy and local :-) Basmati Rice is not a product that grows in our area - you will not find it in one of our restaurants.Maybe we should have explained clearly what we stand for and what our concept consists from. The interesting thing is the way we create from local products a daily fresh menu - this is what we stand for in short - local - healthy - seasonal - nice. Ate here twice on the summer terrace they have by the lake (July to August). You need to book because it is very popular and rightly so. Brilliant management turns the tables around quickly and although you are by the road all focus is on the lake and food. There are lovely pollarded trees providing shelter from a very hot sun. Locals mix easily with tourists as the lake ferries glide close by.The food is widely varied and 4* meaning very good. This is not refined dining but you are paying reasonable prices for both food and drink hence the popularity. Everything comes from the kitchen of the hotel across the road apart from barbecued items of which there are many. Good lamb chops first time. The team are terrific and you do not notice the travel time.Go and enjoy, but do book or be good at charming the very efficient lady who keeps the whole place in such good order.

The Grape was a good choice for meeting friends in Weggis. The setup is nice with friendly staff and a cosy atmosphere. 4* would be for this setting. The burger I had was not really medium and more cooked than grilled. Sides okay but nothing really outstanding. The amuse-gueule felt like a joke - a few stripes of carot - leave it if you cant do a surprise. My friends seemed to be much happier than I so maybe my critics are a bit harsh but I was probably disappointed that kitchen could not keep up with comfort.

Restaurant is part of the Hotel Friedheim which is listed in your hotel listings, but I'd like to write a reiew about their restaurant.
We've eaten here several times before and this year we went back twice. The food is consistently good. The location and setting are beautiful, sitting outside, even on a hot evening, was cool and pleasant, overlooking the lake below.Be sure to reserve, especially on weekends. The staff are friendly and professional and the dishes are excellent. One criticism: even on a bill of over 300 Swiss francs - about $315 (US) - they added 3 francs for water: ordinary TAP water(!) without even a cube of ice. (Yes, we ordered a bottle of wine too.)Aren't they ashamed of that pettiness?

A very positive experience. Lovely terrace but our one cool evening by the lake. Discrete blankets for ladies no problem. Apart from a family where the parents seemed not to know how to ask/tell their children not shout it was lovely. They left after 25 minutes and a nice amuse bouche.Great perch from the lake, the best I had. Excellent choices of wines quite a few by the glass. Very professional service that asked when we wanted next courses to arrive. You will enjoy this place. Classy food, good staff and the lakeside - a powerful combination!
