Find out what European restaurants to try in Visby. Visby is one of Scandinavia's preeminent medieval cities. Every August, it hosts its medieval week, complete with authentic dress, feasts and jousting. But you don’t need to visit Visby in August to get a sense of its medieval history. Just follow the cobblestone streets that wind throughout the city, take a tour of its Old Town and visit the 13th-century church. You certainly can’t miss the 13th-century wall that stretches three kilometers around the city and was once used as the city’s defense from intruders.

We were there on Midsummer night and it was not as crowded as we had expected. However, we had a reservation for 8 and a nice table was set for us. Our menu was set and it included a salad, a steak and a chocolate dessert. The meat was a bit tough in my view but tasted good. Our server was courteous, friendly and professional. We had a good evening.

We chose a table indoors for dinner as it was a cool and windy evening, but surprisingly we were the only guests indoors (there were also a few in the outdoor area). The indoor area is both a shop and a restaurant. The staff was very nice and as a starter to share he suggested the tapas plate from the deli section of the menu (the menu section of starters only contained a few dishes, but the deli section contained several more, and the waiter explained that those deli plates could also be had as starters). The tapas plate contained Skagen mix (prawn and mayo salad), salami, pâté, artichoke, olives, manchego cheese, sourdough bread, olive oil, and it was very good and tasty. The bread was not the ordinary type but delicious sourdough bread and the waiter said that if we wanted more bread we could just ask for it, which we did. We had fish soup as main course, which was served with aioli and sourdough bread, and it was also very tasty. With each main course there was a recommendation of a wine that would match the food. The wine list was quite small, but the recommended one matched the fish soup very well. Although this place looks more casual than other fancy restaurants in Visby, the quality of the food is very good and we definitely recommend this restaurant.

French Style Bistro with local Products. Menu Changes several times per year in order to pick upp seasonal vegetables etc.
This is a restaurant we try to afford when in Visby. We had the chevre for starters and the lamb for main course. The main course looks like it's not enough, but I couldn't make room for desert, so it was perfectly balanced. The staff was nice. We chose to sit indoors to come away from the sun. It was a bit hot indoors aswell, but it was a hot summer evening.

Hello My cafe is listed in coffee tea category while it should be in cafe category. I would be happy if you can change that. All the best Zadok
This restaurant feels like you are transported to Italy with the atmosphere and music. The service was friendly and attentive (making adjustments for lactose-intolerant is appreciated). Their garden is beautiful, they have their own coffee brew and use fresh ingredients. Their saffron pancakes smelled amazing! This is definitely a cafe you should make a visit to!

Neapolitan-style pizza, which means âthe-real-thingâ. Perfectly done and delicious. The only ânegativeâ thing about this place is that itâs just outside (really, a matter of steps away) Visbyâs main square, so you almost feel that you are missing that special mood just by a little, but itâs not the restaurantâs fault. The view of the ruins is still impressive, at least if you sit outside. I havenât tried them all, but, thinking of Swedish standards, Iâd be surprised if this were not the best pizza-place in Visby.

This culinary gem is serving family-style dishes of outstanding, inspirational quality. We had 8 of them and wished we could have tried them all. We heard that Gotland has great chefs - but we never would have thought to get this amazing food. The owner-couple could open a restaurant anywhere in the world and would be successful. And by the way: Leave room for the mouthwatering desserts.

We look forward to serving you the tastiest food we know: galettes and crêpes based on the French cuisine but with our exclusive, Gotlandic touch. We want our Crêperie to be a memorable experience for each and everyone. We offer sweet music, culinary deli
Fantastic crepes and galettes served in an authentic local environment. Try their ciders, they have a large variety - we tried an ecologic one and we're not disappointed. Service was very good, though the place was a bit crowded since this was the Medieval Week in Gotland.
Where to eat Barbecue food in Visby: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Visbys nicest livingroom, where you will be pampered both in the restaurant and at the bar. G:a Masters offer a pleasant combination of creative food preparation and a relaxed bar atmosphere. In the summertime, there are tables outside, right at the heart
Had some trouble to make up my mind when booking a birthday dinner for 2 in Visby. Finally I booked g:masters and Iâm very happy for this. Personal, swift and good service throughout the evening. Starting with a âspecial â drink, followed by âLöjromâ as starter a bottle of good Amarone and Entrecôte! All tasty and cooked professionally and with heart! Ended by sharing Bruleeâ and a plater with cheese. A perfect evening in a relaxed atmosphere. Worth to note the good music, in the right volume, you hear it so it is making the atmosphere good, but do not take over!

Warning! The herring was totally overfried, to dry to eat, and an extremely tiny dollop of lingonberry jam. The fish soup equally disappointing. Like dishwater with unrecognizable pieces of fish and almost without flavour. When telling our friends about this awful meal they too had had exactly the same experience with the same dishes last year!

At Lilla Bjers GÃ¥rdskrog you can enjoy all the flavors and fragrances picked direct from the soil. You are served what is best for the day, cooked with care. Lunch and dinner. All vegetables is taken from Lilla Bjers ecological farm, meat and dairy from o
We biked out from Visby to have lunch here. Unbeknownst to us, it was Motherâs Day Sunday in Sweden, so they were extremely busy! They were very gracious, however, to the Canadians who just showed up and we were able to eat at the tables outside. Although it was brisk, in the sunshine with the lap blankets provided it was quite nice. The food was outstanding - really, really delicious and prepared to perfection. I had the beet salad with shaved lamb which was an amazing farm-to-table dish. We also had a chance to visit the farm shop and chat with the owner who was working in the greenhouse. This place has a good vibe/energy and we felt lucky to have been able to experience it. Tack sÃ¥ mycket! Tack sÃ¥ mycket! It was so nice to see you! It is amazing to meet guest from so far away, it really makes the world smaller! I am pleased you liked your stay at Lilla Bjers, and I also hope you will have a wonderful stay on Gotland. Welcome back again someday! / Margareta Hoas
