Located on the banks of the Mekong River, Vientiane is a city steeped in legend and history. The city is the home of the massive gilded stupa, Pha That Luang, a national symbol of Laos. The streets are lined with trees, French colonial buildings, street markets, Buddhist temples, and noodle shops. Just outside the city is Buddha Park, a garden littered with over 200 cement sculptures depicting the gods and monsters of Buddhist and Hindu myth.

Original italian pizza made by Italian pizza chef!!! Blues & rock music Good choice of italian wine bottles at affordable price. Original italian food in a international ambience
American expat here who has lived in Italy also...Soul Kitchen is a quiet eatery about 1km from the main tourist area, my Lao wife and I enjoyed our dinner of a Napoli pizza and gnocchi with Gorgonzola cheese, I already have a favorite pizza and a separate pasta place in town, but here you can have either, thin crispy pizza but the gnocchi was the star*...little homemade potato pillows covered in a smooth tart Gorgonzola, heavenly! Great rock & roll tunes surrounded us as we dined. Friendly Italian proprietor, also fresh squeezed juices and a full bar, search them out but name is a bit deceiving. Prices comparable with similar eateries in the area.

We have has dinner and lunch here as it was across the road from our hotel. The food on both occasions was tasty. One one occasion I ordered a dish without sauce and it appeared with sauce, but it was soon rectified. The ingredients appeared fresh and the staff were polite and helpful.

My husband declared the duck breast the best he has ever had - perfectly pink and delicious sauce. The lamb laap was also great fresh tasty. Portions are large the starter of ceviche could have been shared by two people. A little more expensive than some restaurants but worth it. Near Lao poet hotel if you need to get a taxi. Friendly service too. Just go you wonât regret it.

The food choice is truly French, and the service is very friendly. Be there early because they have only roughly 8 tables inside and 4 tables outside, which quickly fill up. And maybe you want to sit inside because the restaurant is located on a busy road.

Italian Restaurant, imported Italian products, true STG neapolitan pizza, pasta, risotti, meat and fish. Italian Management, only at Aria Restaurant!! Come and try our new exclusive menu featured by our Italian Chef.
After many months traveling through Thailand I decided, with friends to visit Vientiane, a place unknown to me at the time. After the usual visits to the 'Victory Gate' of Vientiane and the 'That Luang Museum' we decided that lunch was in order. One of my companions had visited Vientiane before and suggested a change from our normal Asian food to some Italian food. It was this suggestion that brought us all to the 'Aria Restaurant', The restaurant faces onto a small street frontage and is both clean and tidy, though the parking of the staff motorcycles out the front does detract somewhat from the initial look. There is an outdoor area where one can sit, eat and drink and watch Vientiane pass by, however on this particular day we decided that the air-conditioned interior might be more comfortable. The small entrance way hides what is quite an expansive interior, well lit with comfortable chairs and tables set so that discreet conversation is possible. It is fully air-conditioned and provides a free WIFI service. We had the daily special, which consisted of pizza and pasta in sufficient quantities to suit most lunch time appetites, plus the bonus of a free beer. The food was delicious and filling, the ambience soothing after the hustle and bustle of downtown Vientiane; and the staff were excellent, friendly and attentive without being over bearing. Good value for $$.Would I visit again, most assuredly, would I recommend it to visitors who want a break from Asian food, in a relaxing quiet atmosphere certainly. Well, worth a visit.

Creative & Authentic French Cuisine - French Chef Tinay Inthavong. Evolutive Wine Selection. Comfy chairs, modern chic décor, a laid-back atmosphere and a warm welcome. Alchemic and eclectic gastro landscape of Snails with scrambled eggs & Truffle, Sea Ba
This small, French owned restaurant served us some of the best meals of our trip to Laos and Vietnam. The menu is small, but the attention to detail is huge. We loved the roasted duck so much that we went back to this restaurant twice during a three night stay in Vientiane. We enjoyed great French red wine and the price for dinner and wine was very reasonable. The restaurant is steps away from the Ansara Hotel.

We called in here to sample some craft beers and for a light dinner. We were not disappointed! We were served by friendly, efficient staff. There is a wide selection of draught and bottled beer available and all served in their own unique glasses, which is a nice touch. The prices aren't too bad, obviously more than beer Lao (which is also served) but reasonable for imported craft ale. There is also a wide food menu. I had a lovely pate with nice crusty, sour bread and pickles and my husband loved the Laos sausage. We had a very pleasant evening here in a nice atmospheric place, would definitely visit again.

With emphasis on local, organic sourcing and simple presentations, Pimenton redefines the modern Open Fire steakhouse with a Hispanic flair. The ambiance is at once a tribute to a restored warehouse and the aesthetics of a modern industrial look.
I arrived Next time I get the opportunity to fly in to Vientiane for a sneaky weekend getaway I am going to simply to eat at Pimenton! The atmsophere is great, funky industrial style decor and good staff who responsive but not intrusive. Excellent cocktails for starters and a comprehensive wine list. As for the food - wow, an extensive menu of tapas and bigger eats. The Paella, (whose reputation preceded even my arrival in the country having been told about it on the plane) was just amazing, tonnes of well grilled meats and perfect flavour and crispy based, grilled asparagus with licorice salt and I have to say I would fly around the world to enjoy the manchego custard just one more time!! Sure, its not cheap for Vientiane, but for most other parts of the world you could not eat such well executed food at even half these prices.

Pomodoro Pizzeria specialty is Italian pizzas, calzone, pasta, shawarma, falafal sandwiches & Pakistani food. All the food is Halal here.
I was fortunate to find Pomodoro in Vientiane. It was incredibly delicious pizza I had in Laos in around five months stay in Vientiane. The Owner Mr. Aamir is a very kind and caring person. He had run pizza business for over 10 years in Italy. Himself and his team do their best to meet the expectations of the guests. Highly hygienic and clean kitchen and restaurant were main attractions in Laos for me.I will highly recommend this for Halal food lovers.
