We always drop in for a drink during our holiday in Eforie Nord, as the view is so spectacular. The seating's now beginning to look a bit dated, but the view remains the same. I've mentioned before that it's pricier than many other restaurants, so I think the reason why it is so busy is its half board customers.

I have struggled to find a decent restaurant in Eforie, most of the restaurants are budget or self serve. This was one of the very few decent restaurants I've found in the area. It was packed when we arrived but by chance we have found a free table. The prices are higher than in other restaurants in the area, however not very expensive. The menu is very diverse and you have lots of choices. As the place was packed and we were in a hurry, we had decided to have mussels in red wine, hoping these will be served quicker. This is because there is an outside cooking area where these (together with some sea food 'take away' stuff) were cooked for people who were passing by and did not want to stay in the restaurant. We have asked the waitress if the service will be quicker if we only want mussels and the answer was positive. However, the were lots of customers buying 'take away', so it took about 30 minutes for the food to reach our table, as the chef was busy selling to the people on the street. The mussels were cooked already, we could see these as we were 1 metre away. However, either the staff was not present to take the plates to the table, either the chef was too busy to put these in the plates, so it was a bit of a wait. The mussels were great, we had a very good meal. So, why 4 and not 5 stars? The waitress forgot about our drinks, after reminding her a few times, eventually the drinks arrived, but this was only when we were already half way eating. Because it took longer that we were expecting for the food to arrive and because we had no drinks, I had to purchase extra things from the 'outside kitchen', hoping the chef will hand us the plates with mussels as well, this was not the case. The waitress gave us a wrong bill. However, due to the quality of the food, we had a good experience and we wanted to come back, unfortunately this has not happened. Try it, if you don't want to eat the usual rubbish in Eforie, this is a decent restaurant.
I decided to try this restaurant based on tripadvisor reviews. Well, at the beginning I wasn't very impressed, when we arrived they didn't had a menu and we were offered some classic "romanian dishes" like grilled pork neck and fries. We were amused and asked why is the restaurant named "fish taverna", if they don't have fish or seafood. Well, thats when the surprise came and the waiter said, "Oh but we have those too but usually people don't ask for them". :))So we had an awesome fish soup and mussels with red spicy sauce, some of the best I ever had. Also they told us that they have fresh fish everyday and that the food is not kept for the next day.

Lets say that we go there just for the sake of old times in Eforie Nord when we spend summer holidays with our parents. The service now its an nightmare. Waiting 60 minutes for french fries with kicken Nuggets its unacceptable. I will translate the review of my 11 years son: the waiter is very slow seems with no soul inside, I saw at least 5 crickets inside restaurant, the kicken nuggets are too much dry, french fries are good, sauce served its the 3 Ron from Kaufland, the plates have scratches, fork not clean (I asked back how he determine this and he reply: in a clean fork you should see your image reflexion), cocktail Mikey Mouse its very good and bread as well very good. Additional for the restaurant amenities: leather seats are not fashion anymore and moreover in the summer period are not comfortable; outside railing terrace its very low build and you can easily fall down.Hope you enjoy the review of 11 years boy.

Located right nerby the beach Poarta Apelor offers an amazing sea view and a menu that includes plenty of fish varieties. We tried the seafood risotto and turbot served along with mashed potatoes and truffles. The risotto was lacking salt and overall was an average dish. On the otherhand the turbot - which we served fried at the waiter's suggestion - was tasty and well done. However, service and costumer care were bad if not awful. The waiters didn't want to open the umbrelas on the terrace despite specifically being ask to (30 degrees with full sun) and were very grumpy and unfriendly.Tips- Access to the restaurant is difficult by car but once you reach the restaurant they do have a parking.- Book a room if you want a shaded table and don't like being bossed around by the staff.

This year we ate at the waiter-served restaurant, which has more comfortable chairs than the self-service part. RON 22 for a 4 cheese pizza and the same for a meat/ham/salami/chilli pepper pizza - absolutely delicious. Always does a good trade.

We explored the area and took a chance trying this amazing restaurant right on the sea.shore. 5 of us tried different options on the starters and main meal menu and all but one of us were happy. I was unhappy with the turbot, which was one of the most expensive pieces on the menu, but the portion was ridiculously small and I could barely taste it. All the other food I tasted was excellent. I suppose the turbot was out of season and they should not have served it. Ambiance was clean and our server was quick, efficient and polite. I definitely consider this restaurant experience as better than the next door competition, Pescaria lui Matei. The menus had an English option and the server managed proper communication in English.
