The market town of Swinford in County Mayo provides a bustling setting for the easy-going charm of the family-run Gateway Hotel. The hotel's relaxed and welcoming Bar serves delicious home cooked food daily from 7.30am to 9pm. From full Irish breakfasts a
How cute is this town!? Swinford is adorable and this restaurant in the hotel was outstanding. We were rolling down one of the main roads (N5)and my wife was looking for "restaurants nearby" on TripAdvisor app. We chose this place. We came in the afternoon, we may have been the last people to partake of an amazing buffet. The mashed potatoes, cauliflower the meat, everything was delicious, and you are NOT leaving hungry! The quality and quantity of food here was just an amazing value. My son ordered hot wings, they were great too. This much incredible, home-cook'in, stick to your ribs food cost us 64 euros, 6 people!! This may have been the best bang for our buck our entire trip. The waitresses were sweet too. If you're between Castlebar and Sligo, do yourself a big favor, and make the the stop to the Gateway Hotel Restaurant in Swinford.

A huge tasty breakfast with my Friends on a Saturday morning heading to Belmullet to do some surfing and windsurfing.White and black pudding, rashers, sausages, beans and toast and some eggs! we were so full we could barely walk back to the car which was only 20 steps away and the friendly staff made sure we were well looked after and kept topping up our coffee. Highly recommended.

Our Restaurant is situated within the historic Foxford Woollen Mills overlooking the river Moy in Co Mayo. We serve a variety of healthy homemade food. Our beef is 100% Irish and where possible all our meat and vegetables are locally sourced. Our breads,
Work your way through the shop upstairs to the cafe ( if you can avoid being distracted by the beautiful books and goodies on sale). It is a beautiful space with thought put into the layout and original touches perhaps remaining from the original factory workrooms, wood panelling and signage.I ordered the fishcakes which came with a little bit of every salad, an excellent macchiato and a slice of the seasonal fruit tart. I opted for rhubarb but there was a selection.I had a 4 hour drive ahead of me so this little cafe was well worth the detour, fresh and delicious with a helping of heart.Highly recommended

I eat meat, my Daughter is vegetarian and my son is Vegan. And finding a Indian that genuinely understands Vegan ethics is refreshing. The takeaway is excellent and the restaurant would best be described as Cafe âishâ. Portion sizes are excellent if your very very hungry. The picture shown is Lamb madras and a Vegan Biryani the stuffed paratha are also Vegan with no Dairy. The nanâs do have milk.My son asks me to point out that the food is consistently good.As the customer base grows Iâm sure the Cafe style restaurant will be updated to a more contemporary style. The food, portion size and friendliness deserve 5 stars but the in house dining area is the minor negative.
