Sukhumi or Sokhumi (Abkhazian: Аҟәа, Aqwa; Georgian: სოხუმი, [sɔxumi] ( listen); Russian: Сухум(и), Sukhum(i)) is a city on the Black Sea coast. It is the capital of the breakaway Republic of Abkhazia which has controlled it since the 1992-93 war in Abkhazia, although most of the international community considers it legally part of Georgia.

This restaurant was excellent- I could not fault them on anything. The food was really tasty and a great variety of European and National cuisine. The prices, while the most expensive in Sukhumi, were appropriate to the quality of food and about on par with prices in Tbilisi or Moscow. The service was excellent- timing of the food and (unlike other restaurants in Abkhazia) all the items on the menu are available. Despite it was 7pm on a Friday evening- the wait staff were happy for me to sit by the window, even though it was a table for 6 (I had not made a reservation). I had a chicken baked in a creamy walnut sauce with cheese on top and roasted vegetables with a spicy sauce. Also available is pasta and I spotted one lady with a dessert that looked to die for. A nice view of the street and the sea from the windows. I did see one or two familes dine here but mostly it seems like Romantic dinners for two.

This is the restaurant you must go in Abkhazia. After stayed in this city for three days, I almost lost my soul. It's reminds me the meaning of food, the juicy steak, the creamy pasta. Perfect balanced with the local red wine.

Great location - center of the city and almost in the sea, located at the end of a long pier. So you can see the city and the mountains from the sea, the sea from above, fishermen at the pier and some sailing sheeps and boats. Delicious and fresh food, average prices, cosy benches, nice staff. Keep it up!

Having struggled for 3 days in Abkhazia with no English menus I was quite happy to find this restaurant which is the only one I saw with the menu in English. No English spoken, but pointing to the English menu they were able to work out what was wanted. Food quality was decent and a good selection of local wines. Prices a bit higher than elsewhere, but still very reasonable by international standards. The smoking inside the restaurant was a little unpleasant.

The atmosphere is relaxing, the place is welcomed and clean. It is crowded only when there are international football games that it is possible to watch in 2 big TVs screens. I tried roasted chicken, pork and red mullets. All dishes are freshly prepared. Great the âvillageâ potatoes, salads and ice creams. They have their little brewery and they are able to produce a smooth homemade beer.
