The café offers a good selection of homemade food, and dining with all rights. We bake our own cakes and other local traditional baked goods . The cafe is a natural meeting place in the village, both summer and winter. Summer is high season and then we ho
Lovely spot to have a good homemade dinner and a potent beer (unlike most other restaurants in Norway that offer weak beers, this Cafe had in stock good beer), the deer burger and the cod were great! And the owner was very friendly and helpful. Would go there again!

Enjoy a good meal with local ingredients, at the edge of the cliff, with a wide panoramic view of the fjord landscape. Hoven Restaurant have a selection of warm and cold dishes, also including a two course lunch-of-the-day. Hotel Alexandra operate the res
Let's be clear, the Hoven Restaurant is in a fabulous location, the building is beautiful and the views stunning. But the prices are high, even by Norwegian standards, for the quality of the food. It could be argued that you are paying a premium for the view and the location. But given that it's £50 per person for the lift ticket to get here - one could argue that one has already paid the premium, and the high price of food and drink is unwarranted. But, given he view, this could be excused if the service was first class, or even second class. But it's not. When we arrived, I said that we had a reservation, but we were shown to a mundane table without a good view, despite the place being 70% empty. The diners who were there had, understandably taken the tables with the best view. My girlfriend quickly found that there was a much better table with a "reserved" sign on it, and of course THAT was our table. But we had not been shown to it.We ordered, and my girlfriend asked for some tap water. We were brought bottled water. I understand, many restaurants now refuse to serve tap water, seeing a better business opportunity in selling bottled water. But my girlfriend had also ordered a tea, and I had ordered an Aperol Spritz for a price that would have covered the full cost of both the bottles of Aperol and Prosecco if bought in Italy, so we were not trying to freeload on the drinks. My girlfriend returned the bottled water. When the food arrived, my burger was pretty good, but my girlfriend's salmon was (she said) not. I must admit, I did not try it, but it did not look good. I cook salmon often, and this looked dry, and my girlfriend said it did not taste fresh... so she returned it.Leea said that in her opinion, it was not good, and the waitress said that "That is how we make it" and that we would have to pay for it, because they had "already cooked it".We are not in the habit of returning food, preferring instead to order what we wish to eat, and then enjoy eating it.Leea insisted that she would have a burger, and that is all she would pay for. At this point the waitress became highly sarcastic, asking f she wanted the burger made "some special way", and I was moved to comment that I thought the service was unacceptable. When we finished eating, Leea pointed out to the waitress that she works in restaurant management, and knows a little about food and service. To which the waitress replied, once again in a prickly fashion, that "All restaurants are different".She is right of course; some have good service, and some do not.To add injury to insult, when I looked at the bill later - the restaurant had charged me for the bottle of water we returned.
Restaurant at Stryn Hotel in centre of Stryn. Restaurant and loungescapasity Strynehallen - banquetthall: 150 persons Restaurant Gulkoppen: 120 persons Dance restaurant: 270 persons Scala Dancing: 200 persons Lounges/bar/lobbybar: 150 persons
Unable to review we the quality of the restaurant as it was closed for renovations. When we made the booking we were not told that the restaurant was closed. Unfortunately, in Stryn there are only about 3 other cafés Which only sell fast food. Had to but from the supermarket and try and make our own. This was hard as there are no facilities in the hotel rooms.

This was our first time having pizza in our trip, although we have read itâs the favorite nationalfood. Menus in English make ordering easy and they were happy to accommodate all of our special requests on our pizza orders. The pizzas all came quickly and were hot and yummy. Although this is not going to compare to what we are used to at home it tastes great. We had 4 different types of pizzas from vegetarian to one packed with meats, all yummy. Try their garlic sauce on the side too!
A delicately designed array of fresh and smoked or cured fishes, mussels, crabs and crayfish and a gorgeous reddish-orange side of home smoked wild salmon met my eyes as I walked in the door yesterday afternoon. The mouth watering bouquet of home made fish courses which are in the hot trays made me change my immediate shopping plans. It was lunch time. So, what to choose ? One may of course pay for a take away or simply slow down,, choose, perhaps some slices of smoked salmon, cured salmon, fish cakes (scrumptious), a brioche, a bottle of water. Sit yourself down at the tiny tables, or eat at the tables outside, which is what I and the locals do. Then, satisfied and still amazed at the relatively low prices for this very high standard of delicatesse food, I could do my shopping, i had a big cardboard box full of these scrumptious fish cakes, almost 1 kg of cold smoked salmon, a quarter kilo of hot smoked salmon, and a couple of bags of fresh mussels.A bag of ice underneath everything and an even larger bag of ice on top of it all kept my goodies cold all the way home to Geiranger. Fantastic service....

Located in Stryn, near the glaciers, Restaurant 34 is a nice and cosy restaurant that serves mostly homemade food, pizza, country and skillet breakfasts, pastas, traditional dinners, tapas, appetizers, wraps, etc., and also have a children's menu catered
We stopped there on Friday, on our way for the weekend... And I just need to say that we came back on our way back home on Sunday. We tried the pizza, not much especial but tastefull, good size and good price. Also tried the francesinha, bacalhau a bras (cod, eller torsk på norsk) and desserts (pudins and ice creams). The fish was especially good, well cooked and they were fast with the service. The francesinha, very good for a Norway place, the sauce was not the same as in Portugal but... Very good !! They also have some norwegian foods, but I think It's completly deserved to try the portuguese dishes !!The staff, kind and helpful, there's norwegians, portuguese and spanish there so they will understand you easily ! Highly recommended !!Hi Andrea. Thank you so much for your review. Hope to see you again soon.

Who knew little Stryn would have such a fun restaurant! Lots of veggie options available (inevitably Italian but apparently really good). The burger was excellent. There's local beer. It's filled with locals or people from nearby. What's not to like.
