This is a great place to eat, big portions and great food and service. Was recommended to us by the owner of the Airbnb we stayed at in the area, the atmosphere was fantastic.Only problem we had was that the owner was the only one who really understood English and my wife and I don't speak Dutch, so there was some communication problems but overall was a wonderful dining experience.

We enjoyed with family a dinner at the theater. Actually we were happily surprised by the quality of the food! Well served. No complaints. Recommended if you need to have a meal just before enjoying a concert or play at the theater!

Geweldig qua smaak. Bijzonder lekker was de eigengemaakte sambal. Een heerlijke afterburner! De prijs kwaliteit al met al helemaal goed.Absulute aanbeveling: reserveer vooraf gezien het kleine aantal zitplaatsen.
A quite big but anyway cosy restaurant at the hotel. The breakfast is very good, the choise of bread is nice as well as all other both warm and cold choises.

Geniet van een lekkere borrel op het terras of een heerlijk diner in het kleinste en gezelligste restaurant van Steenwijk!
From greeting to farewell it would be impossible to improve. The gin and tonics were first class, the steaks, surf and turf with a difference, were cooked to perfection as were the vegetables. The pudding, hemels-toetje was so good that if it were possible to eat two we would have done so. Situated in a beautiful building at the end of the harbour and they have the most pleasant and helpful staff.

We had a good diner in this restaurant. The quality of the food was above average, but not overwhelming. That makes the average rating.

The restaurant is located in an old school building and its decorations include an old Dutch reading "plank". There were four in our party, three Dutch people and a Lancashire lass. The service was excellent, knowledgeable about food and wine, friendly and non intrusive. The food was very well presented, a feast for the eye. The starters, a vegetarian dish and pastrami dishes for the others, were brilliant, fresh and very tasty. The "amuse bouche" cucumber gazpacho and a small piece of tomato "cake". Main course included veal sweetbreads on a risotto, delicate chicken with superb jus (gravy to us Northeners) accompanied by wonderful vegetable combinations and a red gurnard dish. Desert were excellent too, with wonderful ice creams, fruit (a superb blackberry coulis), not over sweet. We had a bottle of Cava and a bottle of German red wine. The table is yours for the evening. The high table is not the most comfortable, but was one of the last ones left and it was worth it for the food. In our eyes the bill at around £40 a head was very much worth it. Highly recommended!
