St Andrews Bar & Grill is set upon a spectacular cliff-top with stunning panoramic views over both our Championship Golf Courses and St Andrews Bay. Serving traditional golfer fayre by day and the finest Scottish steak and seafood by night, Fairmont St An
For dinner our first night at the Fairmont St. Andrews we visited this restaurant. Itâs an easy walk from the hotel and a shuttle is also available in case of inclement weather. Views are stunning from all sides of the restaurant, and theyâve maximized them with floor to ceiling glass windows on three sides. Watch the sunset and have your photo taken between starter and main course! We found the food to be good â not the best weâve ever had but still very good. Presentation is excellent and service was also excellent. If you enjoy seafood youâll appreciate the choices. My husbandâs steak was a bit overdone but my Plaice was cooked perfectly.Homemade gelato from a family owned gelateria in town is served for dessert (along with other options too). If you like gelato you have got to try it - it was fantastic. We enjoyed our meal overall and the company of other equally giddy golfers. No need to be too dressed up here - some come straight from the course and others simply change into slacks or jeans.

Booked a table here as we had bought an 'itison' voucher for Brunch with a glass of Prosecco as we had wanted to try this place out - as passed it many times. So glad we did try it - we were were delighted with our meal, although the menu had changed since we had bought the voucher-but still loads to choose from. Both the food and service were excellent, staff are attentive, pleasant & friendly. Its been decorated lovely inside, very welcoming.Although not too busy when we were in, that wouldn't put us off returning as overall menu looks good too.Would definately recommendHi Butsy19,Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a kind review. Visited for dinner after dropping daughter at uni. Large airy restaurant with nice decor. Bit chilly under aircon. Starters prompt and tasty but downhill after that as we had to wait over half an hour for mains. Vegan fish and chips was a slab of tasteless tofu . For the price I would have expected homemade chips but they weren't. Partners hake and risotto was dry as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. Daughters said their burger and fish and chips were good though.Asked for the bill and waited about 15 mins after receiving it to pay. We eventually got up and just had to go looking for someone.Overall overpriced for what you get. Don't think we will be returning.Hi GlasgowBoBo, Thanks for you review of The Saint. I am so sorry for the service and food and service you received. Its so far from the service we aim to deliver. I have passed your comments onto the kitchen and management team to ensure this is an isolated incident. I understand that you may not want to come back. However if this changes please email me on [email protected] Kind regards, Laura

With an award-winning team, the very best of Scotlandâs larder and a passion and flare for the delicious and delectable. This is the Road Hole Restaurant at the Old Course Hotel - The Home of Scottish Cuisine in the Home of Golf.
You really can't beat the view from here. At breakfast time you look over the famous Road Hole on The Old Course. By night the views are no less stunning, the R & A headquarters and Hamilton Hall both floodlit. We stay a the hotel quite regularly - always a treat - but hadn't eaten here for a long time. Dinner began with a car crash of a dish, a pigeon starter which was horribly over done, so much so that we contemplated leaving. Yet every other dish was memorable in a good way. Highlights included a twice baked souffle starter with Anster cheese and a traditional souffle dessert on mandarin and Cointreau. Mains of venison and duck were also excellent. Service could have been better

In the heart of St Andrews with a fresh take on contemporary dining using the finest locally sourced produce. The perfect place to eat, drink and socialize. Separate contemporary cocktail and wine bar which is open: Monday - Thursday 17.00 - late Friday 1
Our group of eight golfers had heard about The Adamson and were able to secure a reservation. We had a great table and wonderful meal. The decor is modern and stylish set in a historic building. Service is exceptional and the cocktails were well prepared. There is an adjacent beautiful bar area as well. Dinner here is a must if you can get reservation.

Playfair's is one of the oldest established restaurants in St Andrews and continues to offer great value for high end casual dining in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. All our food is freshly prepared with ingredients from local independent businesses
Having complained about poor service before, I returned with friends to Playfairs. This time the service was excellent as was the food. We will be back and if the standard is maintained then 5 stars will be awarded. The chef is excellent so I would encourage readers to book a table. Good food beautifully presented at reasonable prices.Dear Friendly Fifer,I am sorry to hear about your past experience of poor service, and I am very happy that upon returning we have been able to turn this around for you. This is a standard we definitely strive to maintain, great food is nothing without great service and vice versa. I am glad to hear that you and your friends enjoyed both your food and your time at our restaurant. Hopefully you can return soon and fully experience our 5 star service.Kind regards,Kane Wilson, Restaurant Supervisor

After we were shown to out table and given menus to choose from, the waitress came and asked if we would like to move to a table with more room. We didn't move but in retrospect I think it was a mistake and we should have accepted to offer to move. We were in a rather tight space and very close to a table on each side. It was an interesting menu with a Scottish look. The choice is not large but what we chose was enjoyable. I had asparagus as a starter - it comes with asparagus spears and goats cheese sitting in a little soup. Very tasty. For a main course I had a pork dish which was very meaty - which something I like. The black pudding gave it a Scottish twist. Anyone who likes lots vegetables might by a bit disappointed. For a sweet I had the sticky date pudding. It came with rum and raisin ice cream which was very good, but the sticky date pudding itself I found very sweet. In my opinion, the dish needed something sharp for contrast to all the sweet things. Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening.

If you can get a table, this is arguably the best in St. Andrews. Book well in advance. Husband and wife team, staff, so obliging and friendly. I have never had a bad meal. Wine list is excellent, just canât recommend highly enough.

The Grange Inn is a lovely 17th Century converted farmhouse. The Restaurant serves modern Scottish cuisine using the freshest of local produce available.
We arrived without a reservation at lunchtime, although busy. A good table found for us. An excellent restaurant of quality with an imaginative chef, small but perfectly formed menu and a good wine list. Our food was excellent, service good (but a bit of training would not go amiss). Enjoyable, can highly recommend.
