It is sometimes included as one of the Saronic Islands. Until 1948, it was part of the old prefecture of Argolidocorinthia, which is now split into Argolis and Corinthia. In ancient times, it was known as Pityoussa, and later as Petses.

This place is one of range of restaurants set round a square and seems to share a kitchen with the Clock eatery with burgers coming out of one kitchen and pizzas another. Everything we had was fresh and tasty, great value and very good service.

I didn't have a reservation, I just passed by and found this lovely place. I call it Paradise. The setting and the view was just amazing, the special shrimp & pasta was amazing, the staff and service was amazing and the entertainment was splendid. My wife loved it even more.Dear Sir/Madam,I would like to personally thank you for your positive comments about our restaurant and our facilities. I was at Spetses for the 25KM Spetses Mini-Marathon Race. I was looking for a quiet, relaxing place to have dinner and found this gem. Normally, in the summer, I imagine it will be quite crowded, but in October, it was relaxing, closing up for the season and I ate there every night during my 3 night stay. Since I was alone, the staff really made an effort to engage me with conversation and suggestions for the menu. A truly remarkable dinner every night... Carbonara, Linguini, and Rigatoni as well as one of there unique salads every night was all I needed since I needed a few days of Carbo-Loading. I met the owner as well, and truly felt like a special VIP guest for the full 3 days. Special Bravo to Miss Cindy, and Mr. Alexander who even on their last night at the restaurant before the season ended, treated me like I was the only guest in the restaurant. Cozy, comfortable, good food, and reasonable prices. See you all next year! I will definitely come back next year and bring my family with me for the Armada event in Spetses.

Super fresh products from their organic farm combined with the expert pairing of aromatic herbs and the right wines made our dinner a pure experience of bliss.We tasted their juicy quinoa salmon salad, the tasty smoked swordfish with perles of taramosalata, the delicious cheese croquettes, a perfect cooked beef tagliata crispy outside but soft and not dry inside, a gently steamed salmon with beetroots, and, as we are Italian, the most difficult challenge for chef Marmarinos: pappardelle with ragout .... our judgment? Perfetto! The wow effect arrived when they offered us a glass of dessert wine from the island of Samos to pair their unbelievable almond mousse: a cloudy sweet paradise of the senses with crispy slices of almonds outside and a maraschino cherry on top. A Michelin Star should be assigned to this talented chef.

We visited Cielo Mar on a Saturday night in August. We ordered wine from the wine list and we were very pleased with our choices. The prices were reasonable (4.5 euros for a glass), the waitresses were replacing our bottle of water with fresh one regurarly and the view of the bar was very beautiful. It is approximately a 15min walk from the main port (Dapia).

Waiting for the midday boat back to the mainland, we say down at Provenza.We were serviced nice and quickly. Ordered a risotto with blue cheese and pear, very tasty! and a salmon Club sandwich. Also very good. great prices, a very pleasant wait for the sad way back to the real life.Would recommend this restaurant for lunch!

A wonderful terrace very close to the center by the sea.Good variety of dishes.Appetizers like chicken wings, chaloumi Tec.Main dishes with specialty on burgers.Big portions, very good quality and taste.The service is not very quick but it is kind.The prices are normal for Spetses but expensive for other cities.

After reading the reviews we thought this would be the ideal restaurant for the first night of our 3 week Island hopping trip. It was the most disappointing meal of the lot especially in terms of value for money. The setting looks fantastic on the verandah of the beautiful Poseidon Hotel, however, the square in front of the hotel is also the playground for children in the evening. In Greece you expect this and it is part of the charm but whilst ok for a traditional taverna, it is not ideal when you market yourself as a fine dining restaurant. The quality of the food for the price was paid was poor and whilst the meal was edible it was stodgy and underwhelming.Dear Whatfordregans, Thank you for sharing your impressions of your recent visit to On The Verandah. I would like to point out that the historic Poseidonion Grand Hotel has enjoyed an emblematic presence on the island of Spetses in the main Poseidonion Square since 1914. It is precisely this location which has enabled it to play a central part in the island life while retaining its majestic ambience. Bearing this in mind, it is beyond our control who uses the public square and we do not see it as something which is detrimental to the dining experience. As for your comments on your dinner, may I point out that we focus on serving traditional Greek dishes in a bistronomy style and setting and our prices are competitively based in accordance with current costing of other equivalent dining venues. The waitress speaks German as she had lived there. The dishes were explained in detail and also whether the seafood is fresh or frozen.We had Anchovies marinated on bread, Sardine filets grilled in butterfly style (not seen at other restaurants) and one calamar for 2 persons. Nice and plain preparation of the food. Everything tasted very well. The white house wine (Chardonnay type) also tasted very well (dry). Whole bottle for EUR 7,00 only. At the end we became a fuit platter from the house.We were surprised about the total price of the meal - for this quality!Definitely we will come back.
