Located in the old kitchens of a noble palace, Le Cucine del Borgo offers the most spectacular view over the Tiber Valley. The Chef selects local products and ingredients using his fantasy and ability. Reservation recommended.
We loved our meal at Le Cucine del Borgo. It was enjoyable to speak with the new owners and hear about this couple's passion for the food, the history of the building and their love of the area. We had a delicious fish dinner and some excellent wine for a very reasonable price. We also ran across a pack of wild boar on the way back to our hotel! We are happy to have passed on our passion for food.Thank you for the reviewChristian & Alina

A quaint restaurant specializes in seafood and offers quality and courtesy since 1998.
We were influenced by the reviews. Not one of the 5 of us would agree with them. The interior is brightly lit. There is a big television on. The place was pretty quiet apart from the tv.There is no menu, how interesting we thought. But that means you cannot see the price. We were charged â¬7.50 for a basket of bread which we had a couple of pieces from. The bill was much larger than any other restaurant we tried. All of them had at least as good food, or better. The reason for the absent menu may lie in that. One of our number didn't have a main course, which made the high price more surprising Wine was expensive, from a tap. Bottled beer likewise (but in fact also available at â¬1.10 in the supermarket near by). May be an unfair point to make but it was a point of comparison given the anonymous nature of the wine. The food in fairness was good although not excellent. One of the vegetable dishes was mediocre. Portions were not large, and in one or two cases small. And this final point: the 20% off for online booking is illusory. The restaurant rejected the booking via the fork after it had been confirmed, we discovered. It certainly could not have been because they were busy.We have hesitated about this review: the food was good, but on reflection, people like ourselves who were making a choice between the various local restaurants feel that others should have available our experience in making their decision before choosing this restaurant.Grazie mille per la recensione, il problema non è stato il mangiare ma bensì il prezzo, tra l'altro onestissimo.

A Sunday afternoon lunch, high in the Sabine Hills, north of Rome, with an amazing view, sounds good - yes! Beautifully laid out restaurant, spacious and clean, with huge windows emphasizing the incredible view. Busy, friendly waiters and lots of families enjoying their food. I had a salad of mushrooms, rocket and black truffle - light and delicious. My friend had a cestino - a cheese pie with flaky pastry - that she said was delicious. The other had a gnocchetti - small potato balls in a tomato sauce - that he said was excellent. For main I had fillets of rabbit, moist, savoury and well seasoned. My friend had the duck in a moscato wine sauce - both were very good. Followed up by 2 delicious desserts and all washed down with a local white wine. This is probably a restaurant for locals, but if you are an adventurous traveller seek this place out (Michelin Guide). It's just off the autostrada and 10 minutes up into the hills. The food is excellent, the service very good, the price is very reasonable (E35 each, including wine!), the view is stunning and the surrounding countryside rivals any found in its more famous neighbour, Tuscany. La bella vita!

We love this place. Just outside Rieti close to Contigliano and the sanctuaries of St. Francis of Assisi. The owners are lovely, considerate - they want to ensure the most pleasant dining experience for you. Elegant ambiance & structure. Service impeccable. Restaurant gets especially booked up at weekends & holidays. There isn't a view a such but the setting is very pleasant and tranquil.Cuisine is typical of Lazio and especially typical of the province of Rieti but prepared creatively. Menu is only in Italian and staff don't really speak English but everything is so good here whatever you choose will be delicious! Always been satisfied with the wines too and our favourite dessert here is the port mulled fruit inside a caramelized suagr basket - large enough for 2 people to share, in our opinion! We were here in Sept 2012 (evening dinner) and again in Dec 2012 (lunch) - all nicely decorated ready for Christmas. There is a small bar area where you can try the local grappa after your meal. Definitely returning!
