smultaria is situated by the entrance of the makado shopping centre. it has a lovely light conservatory area where you can imagine yourself eating outside without getting cold. The service is friendly and fast. I ordered 'kip wok' baquette which was warm chicken with mushrooms, beansprouts and terriyaki sauce on baquette. It was very tasty. I will definitely order that again. My mum had 'boeren'omelette which is omelette with onion red and green pepper. It was so big my mum could barely finish it.

Excellent little intimate restaurant. A good menu with superb friendly service. The wine list needs some decent reds and this place could be a gem. Highly recommended if you are looking for a nice relaxed place to eat in schagen.

Just close to Sint MaartensKerk, this restaurant was at a strategic place for stop over from a long trip. The food was really good and delicious served by smiling faces of the younger staff. We came here again since we always pass by Schagen most of the time.

We used to come here quite regularly and were very fond of the restaurant, when they first opened. I don't know what happened but the quality of food became average and service uninterested unless you are acquainted with the owner. Our anti-climax was when a bottle of wine was added twice on the bill and when my mother-in-law went to talk to the waitress; the bottle was taken off the bill without as much as an apology. Don't get me wrong...it is not horrible but there are many restaurants in this town and nearly all of them are just as good an option or better.Basically not the restaurant I would recommend friends.

Cosy restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We serve good food for a reasonable price. Please let us know if you have any remarks or suggestions, we appreciate it and will try to come to your wishes.
Especially during the weekends you have to book a table otherwise you are unlucky. That says quite a lot about the restaurant. The food is good and on weekdays they have a menu for a price you can barely cook yourself for.

There are many eating places to choose from around the grote leek in Schagen. De Posthoorn we found to be nice and relaxing and with good service. The seating area in the front conservatory is ideal if not too busy and good for watching everything going on outside. The lunch menu is typical Dutch but the food was very good when it arrived. I really enjoyed the soup and tosti and my wife had a really nice omelette. Looked like the toilets had bee recently renovated - nice and clean.

Second time here, couldn't wait to try it again as last time I had the 'surprise menu', which was great but now I intended to try the soft shell crab. Of course, as the menu is seasonal, the crab wasn't on the new menu, I should have thought! We had a Chef's table again, entertaining to watch the Chefs and, especially for our Dutch friends ( tall of course), watching me climb up onto the tall chair and jump down too. The food was amazing, the service is still informed, efficient and friendly. The menu had something for everyone, each course light and tasty and yet we ended up very full. You must try this place if you're in Schagen.Thank you very much for your lovely review. We hope to see you again soon!Kind regards,Team Stiel

Really enjoyed our lunch at Leuk! I love that staff can speak such fantastic English which helps to negotiate the Dutch menu. The portions were generous and well presented and the hot drinks all came with `slagroom` (whipped cream). The cakes looked excellent but we didn't have room - maybe next time

This was the second time that I ate here, and again the wait was very long. Also the staff was sloppy. I normally wouldn't complain about this in a normal restaurant, but for the prices that you pay here you should expect more. The food however was good, but in my opinion not worth the money.
