I am writing this comment from very small room with its even smaller shower of the hotel. Because I am alone and I just stay 3 night, it is not problem. But if you choose this hotel and dont want narrow places, you should stress your wish during reservation. Positive side of the hotel is its location. It can not be better. Internet connection is perfect in my room (4 th floor).

Traditional Alsatian restaurant with terrace on the canal from the Marne. Romantic and full of woodwork, La Marne offers meats, pizzas and pies outbreaks, salads ..
Whenever we stay in Saverne, we must have dinner at the restaurant de la Marne. The food is excellent, the service very efficient, quick, friendly. The location, next to the lock is such an amusing entertainment, with boats coming and going. We make sure to reserve a table well in advance to avoid disappointment. See you next summer. Located in the pretty town of Saverne (67), 40 km north west of Strasbourg, at the foot of the Vosges and in the heart of historical and cultural Alsace, the Hotel *** Chez Jean offers 40 charming rooms . Christelle and Fabrice VEIT-HARTER are happy to we
The chef here does a great job. Presentation is good and food is delicious. We had a chicken dish that was excellent. Breads are fresh and good. Wines are reasonable. Desserts are excellent and there is variety. Alsatian foods are highlighted.

Simply gorgeous pizza and we've eaten in and taken out. Watching the pizza guys prepare the pizzas is quite something. Professional is not the word. It's like poetry in motion. The boss runs a tight ship and service is impeccable! Try the salmon pizza. It's probably the best I've ever had!

We ate lunch here, on a cold and rainy Sunday, after reading about it on the internet. Unfortunately, our experience was not very good. We ordered snails which were very small but tasted good. The house speciality was "Five-Seafood-Sauerkraut which we ordered. It arrived in a large serving bowl from which we served ourselves. The white fish was dry, the (farmed) salmon had no taste, the crawfish was so tiny, that it was impossible to peel, and the Sauerkraut was almost raw and cold. Boiled potatoes were mixed with the Sauerkraut. We left most of it untouched. The waiting staff was not very friendly. When we mentioned our disappointing experience to our hosting family, they confirmed that it was a restaurant people went to to be seen, not for the food. We didn't go back and cannot recommend it. However, the uniquely Alsatian decorations are charming and to a large degree original.

For the second time we were there and found the same hospitality, friendliness, but most important quality and quantity of the food. We felt very spoiled and had a delicious experience. Quality wines for moderate prices. A flood of small surprises, amuse-gueuls and entremets made us almost dizzy. Only critic: we could not change the desert for the cheese board, next time we'll try again!

This lovely restaurant is located uphill in the old part of the town. Visitors eat in the vaulted cellar, but can also use an outdoor terrace. Typically Elsässer flammkuchen is paramount at the start: try it! For the mains we chose the extremes of foie gras and a vegetarian tart. Both were of impressive quality. As almost everywhere in Alsace the desserts were very delicious. Along with a bottle of wine one pays for a three course meal for two people about 100â¬. The price-quality ratio is reasonable.
