This was really impressive- great service, great wine, and great food in a laid back, elegant setting. Haute Catalan cuisine for sure. I started with black pasta and seafood. The pasta was briny and perfect, the seafood was sweet and fresh. perfect. The main course of duck breast was equally impressive.

Raviolo is a restaurant located in Manresa, a city in the center of Catalonia. It is a restaurant very-well decorated, where you can eat italian, catalan and mediterranean food. Here I came to taste the executive menu, which almost always is excellent and the rate quality/price is amazing. A top in Manresa!

We visited the Monserrat Monastery by car and it was one of the restaurants on the way down. We had passed other restaurants just mins from it, but they were either too crowded or doesn't take reservations. While they were busy, they let us in without reservations so it was a good sign about the warm hospitality we were about to experience.Being Asian, we didn't know what is the best local food to order, but there was a very nice lady who spoke English and was very helpful to explain to us what's on the menu, what she'd recommend/prefer and also she seemed to be in charge and made some very nice gestures which I will later elaborate. So eventually, we settled on the seasonal menu, which was value for money for starters/mains/dessert at 14 Euros with water and house wine included. They even served complimentary starters of some tasty potato salad and croquette with tuna, and bread which were delicious and we were partly full before our actual starters arrived. They also made sure our colleague who was muslim had no meat in the salad starter. So, if its attention and hospitality that you like for a restaurant this rustic local restaurant is a great choice. The food was good too, and while, its not going to win a Michelin star, all of us loved one dish or another. I had tail of monkfish which I suppose was pan-fried, and finished in what I guess was a reduced white wine sauce with rehydrated dried apricots and prunes. Monkfish was new to me, and it had a robust (not fishy taste) so it tasted fine overall. Another colleague ordered lamb which tasted good too. We did order an additional plate of fried calamari, where the batter was not deep fried to a usual crispy finish but came soft which we were not used to. We did not dislike either as the seafood was fresh. The seasonal salad was also very tasty and fresh, with goat's cheese, walnuts, raisin bursting with sweetness, some quince jam, and apple slices. We never got to dessert as we were stuffed due to the above average portions (for Asians anyway), and the lady proprietary or manager was kind enough to swap dessert with complimentary barista machine brewed coffee which we appreciated more being jetlagged and all. They have a good selection of desserts including a local cheese, the special catalonian cream, cakes (lemon and triple-chocolate cake), etc. Actually before we decided it was too much of a good thing for desserts (we saw the big portions of the local creme catayluna) she actually gave us a sample of a small slice of lemon mousse cake when I asked if it was not too sweet. It tasted light and had good lemon tangy balance BTW, and I was tempted to ask if I could have one more slice to share (but I didn't as that would be taking advantage of their fine hospitality since we agreed to replace dessert with coffee) while we had coffee. They even left us take away our bottle of house wine, but they had to pour it in a another empty plastic water bottle as they would recycle the glass bottle which we completely understand. The red wine was easy to drink, a fruity young wine with berry and floral notes and low tannin, which went surprisingly well with my fish.So many good points about feeling welcome and accommodating to your needs, we probably take a detour from the City again and come by this lovely restaurant.

Lâà is a restaurant that was awarded a Michelin star from 2013, a space born with the will of wanting to make clients enjoy an experience with all senses. Suggestive and daring recipes at the service of traditional flavours and ingredients. Fusion of mode
Absolutely amazing. Right from the start we were totally gobsmacked in more ways than one. The service is impeccable, the food stunning, the drama and theatre amazing. You can choose menu items, or they offer degustation with or without wine flight. We did the whole thing with wine and it was a delight that I will remember for a long while. How they even did some things is a mystery - you have to try this!PS Very busy - need to reserve. Hotel does do packages with room etc., and well worth it.Dear IvanNewZealand,Thank you very much for sharing your great experience in Restaurant L'Ã. Great food overall, the menu had multiple options that were excellent for a reasonable price. The wine was decent as well. Service was friendly with limited English, but no English menu. Small place so may be best to call ahead for a table but we were able to walk in (barely). Located down a side 'street' that's walking only but parking is nearby. Highly recommend after a trip to Montserrat.

This is a very good eating option if you are visiting the nearby Montserrat monastery. You will find no nouvelle cuisine here, just good raw ingredients properly prepared in a simple way.

This place is deservedly number 1 at time of doing this review. It appears to be only open Friday - Sunday (for info). There were 4 of us dining, with three 5/5 and one 4/5. The impression overall one gets is of passionate and interested staff - the waiter was on the ball, friendly and efficient (despite being only a young lad). The chef came out to see what we thought of his creations. The desserts weren't as impressive as the starters and mains, but I didn't think it fair to mark down to 4 for that...maybe 4 1/2!
