We arrived in at Taberna Cabildo which is set in a bustling square. We were lucky to get a table for lunch. The food is excellent and on a hot day diners were treated to a very fine (and welcome) spray to keep us cool. Only quibble our waiter never returned with our change - we prefer to choose how much to tip, rather than leaving it to the waiter.

Hi visited here after our hotel reccomended it but found the food very average as my wifes lasagne was only just warm enough which we should have sent back but it had become so busy 2 waiting staff were struggling to cope and it was very hard to grab either of them so just ate it fast ,i ordered a calzone which had a bit of ham and mushroom on top because i think they had forgot to put anything inside which was a shame as both dishes were quite tasty ,food was not expensive so we just ate up and left .Hello dear Carlos thank you very much for your comment.First of all I would like to apologise for the not so god experience you had in out restaurant. We will take that into consideration and and we will do our best to improve on the point you mentioned.Hope to serve you again.Regards Marco

This place is very popular with locals, but is big enough to cope, so usually no trouble getting a table. Inside and outside seating. Waiters very friendly despite being run off their feet (especially Manuel)! The menu which I will post some pics of, is amazing and the food lives up to the promise of the menu. For us, the outstanding tapas were the goats cheese in Pedro Ximenez with almonds, Cazon stew, pulpo a la Gallegos, pastel de cola de Toro and date pudding. Read the menu and drool......prices are good too.

"Puerta de la Victoria" is a tipical restaurant where you can to eat all you want. It's in the center of the city near "Plaza del Cabildo".
We love Sanlucar, but this was the first time we had eaten at PdlV. It's next door to Casa Balbino, but differs in that it's mainly tables in the side street, with table service from the extensive menu. I did go in to look at tapas, and chose an excellent avocado/prawn dish. We also had cheese, large langoustines (Sanlucar ones, a treat!) and I tried a new strong local beer, really good. It's very popular, and no table goes empty for more than 20 seconds, as people wait expectantly. Service is really good, despite the throngs in August.Next visit, we will add it to our normal haunts.

Tavern located in the city center, a 2 'Cabildo Square, next to the parish of Santo Domingo. The place dates back to the sixteenth century, it belonged to the Convent of the Dominican Order. You can still continue to appreciate the rest of it, like the co
This meal was made worthwhile by the 'Manzanilla en Rama', aged dry sherry which is so hard to find outside of Sanlucar. Absolutely delicious. The food was surprisingly good too.

Our cuisine is based on the enhancement of local and seasonal products. Manzanilla sherry and fine tapas
This restaurant immediately made us feel at ease - contemporary style in historic building - in our experience the most modern approach to cuisine we encountered in Sanlúcar. Brilliant selection of local dishes with a twist paired with expert & super friendly service. On top Jose reconnected us with our past - he showed us the terrace where we had stayed at the top of the building 28 years before. Highly recommended!

We had 2 weeks eating our way around Andalucia and our 2 meals in Lantero were some of the best we had. The service was exemplary with the waiter being attentive and recommending excellent dishes. We had the meatballs and the cod on the first night and a whole fresh fish the next night. As someone who is familiar with Spanish food, I can say they have the same raw ingredients as other restaurants but add an extra touch that elevates things to a level far beyond the ordinary. Well worth a visit and it won't break the bank. Thank you Alice W! :) We are very happy for your opinion

Since this place re-opened under new ownership (after a complete refit and the owners having moved from a nearby location) in spring 2017 we have been a number of times. The outside terrace is lovely for summer nights and spring/autumn lunches. Inside is light and calming with plants hanging from the ceiling skylights.Food is excellent and good value and there is a good choice of wines too. We have enjoyed some of their signature dishes in particular: starters of ensaladilla de gambas which is served warm, fantastic croquetas, ropa vieja of corvina (potato, chickpea, corvina fish and garlic all mashed together!) and tartaki of tuna. Their rice main courses are excellent as is the grilled corvina served with a creamy scallop sauce and oven baked dorada. We also have enjoyed their sucking pig and steak. To finish they do an excellent chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream.Occasionally the service has been a little hit and miss, but only when the restaurant is very busy, generally it is very pleasant. We revisit for special occasions.

For Spain, and for a smallish provincial town like Sanlucar, this was a very special place. Nice location overlooking the river, but not too far from the centre. Modern and attractive inside. Very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive service. And most importantly, the food was interesting and very well cooked. We had some croquetas to start, which were crispy outside and soft and melting inside. Two rice dishes (black, and green risotto) were intensely flavoured and extremely tasty. Washed down by a bottle of local rose, which is slightly salty (like the manzanilla), cold and flavoursome. Fantastic value for the quality - and inexpensive anyway. Highly recommended!

We have eaten here a total of three times in March and April. This hotel has a large ground floor exterior terrace (sun shades available) over looking the sea/beach. It was good for the friends we went with who had young children and they could run around safely as the terrace is enclosed and away from the passing traffic on the sea front but still has sea and beach views. For the first two visits the service was pretty dire - but we still came back for more the following lunchtime for the second visit because the food was so good! However, they did try to redeem themselves by giving us a free bottle of cava because service was so slow. During our more recent April visit there was new waiting staff and the service was much improved and finally complimented the high standards of food from the kitchen.Food is modern "tapas" style with dishes costing between 4-7 Euros. Often the starter dishes were good value and larger portion size with the main courses being smaller but still less than 8 Euros, so for 15 Euros per head a reasonable quantity meal with drinks can be enjoyed. Some of the starters we enjoyed were tuna tarter, home made pate, salmon Carpaccio, salt cod revuelto, wild mushroom risotto and grilled goats cheese and aubergine. All were excellent and well presented with home made breads and various side sauces and decorations. For the main courses we preferred the meat dishes to the fish which included very good pork fillet in roquefort sauce, presa iberica, beef fillet wrapped in bacon and good home made (pork) hamburgers. The home made desserts which included an almond tart and various chocolate concoctions sadly looked better than they tasted but did not lessen the overall good eating experience.Prices for wine are very reasonable, for example Beronia Rioja Crianza for 10.50 Euros.
