Although they don't use the terms "tapas" or "small plates" on their website, that's really the concept behind this restaurant. The two of us shared 5 savoury dishes, namely the lupini beans (these were finger food, with the beans mixed in with black olives), artichokes, cod croquettes, Cod à Bras, and blood sausage, followed by 2 desserts, the cheesecake and the bread pudding. All of the dishes were excellent. Our server was very good. I wish I knew her name, so that I could recommend that people try to sit in her section, but I don't. She was knowledgeable, helpful, and fun.The room was stylish, very modern and fairly stark. All in all, this was not just the best restaurant we ate at in Montreal, but the best in the province of Quebec as a whole.

Located on Saint-Denis Street in front of the beautiful Square Saint-Louis, the Restaurant de lâITHQ has an elegant indoor space and a delightful outdoor terrace. In the kitchen, Chef Jonathan Lapierre-Réhayem prepares modern and refined seasonal menus th
We chose this place, based on the Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Another review explained that the staff are students. At the time of our visit, âschoolâ had finished and the staff were all employees, although many (if not all) had been students, under the previous regime. And they all came across as thoroughly professional.Opted for the 5 course tasting menu, but without the wine matches. However, our waitress (Valerie) had no hesitation in suggesting a couple of by-the-glass options. Started with a chicken liver pâté amuse bouche, which was very good and, of course, very rich. Then asparagus and courgette flower tempura, followed by something that escapes me, both courses being ably complemented by a decent rosé.The first main course was lobster gnocchi with seafood crisps, followed by guinea fowl, with roasted mushrooms, which we washed down with a Chiroubles Gamay. Two fabulous desserts (my wife is lactose intolerant, so was offered an alternative) rounded off a pretty damned fine dinner. The final bill as $190, so I canât quite agree with the review which says âfine dining, but not at fine dining pricesâ. However, we both enjoyed the dinner, which was conducted at a very civilised pace.

The restaurant Les Pyrenees celebrates the gastronomy of the Basques and of the Catalonians, creating a wonderful symbiosis in between french and spanish culinary cultures.
The lunch specials are all amazing and change daily. Out of the 6 dishes we ordered, two being kidâs meals, they were all amazing, unique and made from scratch. Would come back a third time if we had time ! I can not recommend enough. Service was amazing too !

Top Old Montreal fishing-village inspired restaurant & wine bar, where our attentive and friendly waitstaff will welcome you 7 days a week from 5pm, or for brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 10 to 2:00. You can treat yourself to rustic but refined dishes,
The appetizer was great - exceptional in fact. Our entrees were a mix: great cod meal with fantastic sauce my fish was over cooked fried greasy and generally not good. It was really loud as well but the service was exceptional and they treated us wonderfully so well in fact, we felt bad about telling them about the not good entree.

A bustling bistro with many tables! We had a memorable meal with a starter of salmon tartare, mains of steak and duck confit, and profiteroles for dessert. Everything was first-rate and service was excellent. The butcher's cut steak was phenomenal and the duck was cooked to perfection.

Seven nights a week, local bands take the stage at Montreal's hottest Jazz bar and bistro. Modavie's spirited setting sets the scene for a night of great tunes, top dining and generous pastis toasting. The bistro's far-reaching wine menu hits just the rig
Modavie has a nice atmosphere. We enjoyed the live music performance while we ate. The food was good, though my husband found the boar gristly The chicken with truffle mashed potatoes was nicely done. We were surprised how busy the restaurant was on a Monday night. Fortunately we had reservations as there would have been a long wait for a table. The restaurant started getting even busier as we were finishing our meal, so we headed out without dessert; though the dessert & after-dinner drink menu looked very good. We would visit again.

Four star French classic restaurant located in Old Montreal.
We were walking around old montreal and came upon this lovely restaurant. Fortunately they had a table but I would recommend getting a reservation. Lovely ambiance and nice feeling here. Staff were very friendly and very professional. I had the scallops and my husband had the steak tartare. Excellent. Everything was delicious. Highly recommended.

Polish cuisine done to perfection in a great atmosphere. Chip away at basic Polish dishes or dare to try more interesting options.
Our first dinner in Montreal was at Stash Café, a Polish restaurant! I found Stash Café on TripAdvisor before our trip and we just had to try it. We stayed at the Hotel Bonaparte and the concierge got us reservations at 8 PM. Stash is only half a block from the hotel. We ordered a starter of four Pierogis; my wife had the Sznycel Mielony; I had the Krokiety; and we had a 500ml carafe if wine. Everything was outstanding, and what a great value! The total dinner, including wine, was only $71 CAD before the tip! (Thatâs only $54 US.) Stash Café is a great restaurant and a Must Try!P.S. The atmosphere is very quaint, with church pews at most of the tables. Service was terrific. When we arrived, the waitress asked us if we wanted to speak âEnglish, French or POLISHâ!

I will never eat an oyster as good as the oysters I ate last night. Amazing. Every bite of our main and starters were completely incredible. The skill of the kitchen is mind blowing and every dish had a mix of textures and tastes that were a delight. Think biting into a dish and closing your eyes in rapture. We had the octopus and oysters with charisma to start, followed by the duck and guinea fowl. Service was perfect. Water service impeccable. Wine list by the bottle pricy and extensive. More options for wines by the glass would be nice. Desserts slightly underwhelming but maybe we ordered badly. The savoury courses were so fantastic I think the bar might have been set too high. We would completely 210% recommend especially if staying in the Vieux Port.
