My faith in Ribeauville has been restored. Merci! After a dreadful experience at the Wistub zum Pfifferhaus, we lunched here. They were obviously under pressure, with lots of lunchers including a 20-strong party of Swedes. Nevertheless we were welcomed warmly and shown to a nice table. In June 2019 there were two fixed menus at 33 and 44 euros. There was also a la carte. In summary, the food, wines, and service were all impeccable. There was an eclectic choice of meat fowl and fish. There was a good selection of local wines, backed up by some from further afield. All served unfailingly well by a very cheerful pair of personnel. The cuisine was excellent. A broth of fresh peas was inventive and delightful. Loin of veal with morilles and a classic sauce was to die for. Cod tasted so fresh considering the distance from the sea. Cheeses were carefully chosen. Deserts were mouth-wateringly homemade. We were so impressed we booked again for tomorrow!! This place is (only slightly) out of town so it doesnât have the footfall of tourists. But go there! It is worth the detour. What a refreshing change from the dire Wistub zum Pfifferhaus, which I reviewed elsewhere in Trip Advisor. Both are in Guide Michelin; Wistub is heading for expulsion, Menetriers is headed for stardom!

Hotel Auberge
We recently booked this restaurant and arrived on time anticipating a good meal. Unfortunately I was ill before we even ordered. My husband explained the situation to our hosts and told them we must leave, feeling bad as the place was booked and smelled wonderful. They were aghast that my husband would do without dinner, as the town is remote and we were staying in a hotel without a restaurant. They insisted in bringing dinner down to him at our hotel! When it arrived, it was a beautiful dinner of their speciality, along with 2 salads and a delightful dessert. All brought on a tray with regular dinnerware, not paper dishes! My husband said it was one of the tastiest meals he had ever eaten, and was so greatful to have it! What truly kind people and we plan to go back to have a proper meal at the restaurant! So nice to know there are wonderful people like these!

Last week, on a sunny day, we had lunch at the restaurant Aux Ducs de Lorraine, which is located outside of Saint Hippolyte. We had a table on the terrace, in the shadow of chestnut trees, overlooking the road from Kintzheim to Saint Hippolyte (Route du Vin). The ambiance was nice and relaxed. We choose the Menu du Terroir, very good traditional Alsace food, good portions, beautifully presented. Onion quiche, choucroute with various meats, ice cream or tarte aux pommes, reasonably priced for Euro 18.50.The foie gras de canard with chutney de pommes was also very good, a bit pricey for Euro 21.00..The service was very attentive and friendly.

Few times are so impressed but we were here. Excellent food. Wonderful and very friendly staff. We are inside late with a small group of locals one night then outside for lunch another time. Their English was sparse but with it was not a problem. We have been in this region several times living close by and this is a favorite place.

Popped in for lunch after an enjoyable walk up from Bergheim. Waitress polite and spoke enough English for us to be seated outside with a beer and enjoy the view from the large terrace. Decided on lunch which was very tasty and the service polite and friendly. Would recommend.

Our "Rabseppi Stebel" Winstub ("wine room") is a traditional Alsatian restaurant that can host up to 50 people. Its wood panelling, exposed beams, floor tiles and friendly atmosphere all come together to create a warm and cosy environment. Our large bay w
We had lunch here on the Saturday of our trip to St Hippolyte and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had the three course tasting menu (and tried one of each - only two meat options available for each course) that was seasonal, and solidly executed. The flavours combined well and was, in places, homely and wholesome. My favourite dish was the pork casserole which tasted just as good as it looks (nicely and strategically placed in a small caste iron pot along with the vegetables). My only slight gripe was that the foie gras, which was served in a generous portion, was slightly overpowering in flavouring and the reductions/jams served with it couldn't counter the strength of the foie gras flavours... The service was friendly and efficient and there was good variety in the wine list, including a small but decent list of local Alsatian wines by the glass. The atmosphere was sophisticated but relaxed (this is a small village after all!) and we would definitely recommended to others visiting the area.

The VitisBar(R), a place where people come to enjoy life as a great wine! Half restaurant and half wine bar, let's experience a framework dedicated to wine and its culture, combined with the finesse of French gastronomy. Be surprised by an inventive menu

The place is very cozy, tiny made up all of wood. The tarte flambée was delicious, the problem was the espresso which was terrible. Burned and zero body.

New creative flavours, natural ingredients and herbs all take pride of place on the menu at Restaurant Joséphine. Chef offers guests an innovative cuisine, full of new ideas and great sensibility. The dining-room presents a stylish and light-filled settin
Walking down from castle Haut Koenigsbourg, this is the place to stop. The location is uninspiring (no view) but the food is good and good value for money, the service both friendly and slightly formal/old-fashioned, if you can imagine that combination.

Passing through and sleeping here, i had dinner in the very cosy and nice, traditionally decorated restaurant, a bit separated from the hotel. High quality local specialities, very good, maybe somewhat traditional wine list with lots of local toppers, very friendly, very welcoming. Ate a wonderful terrine here and some tradtional tripes d'alsace. Very high quality, nice place.
