Cuisine traditionnelle française avec produits frais et locaux : Parmentier de canard, rata de margate, entrecôte 350g, poisson du jour, desserts fait maison etc...
Here is the perfect local bistro--lively, warm and serving delicious food. Everything from fresh oysters to lamb shanks and head cheese--all the things I love in a simple local French restaurant, and there are also great salads, delicious hamburgers (or steak hache) and daily menus. Prices are very reasonable (13 or 14 euros for a 3-course lunch and 16 or 17 euros for dinner), service is prompt and helpful, and the food is first-rate! Rognons, or kidneys which I love, are perfectly done as are steaks and burgers. Oysters are local as are fish specials. Packed at lunch with local office staffs and busy at night. Best thing to happen to Croix de Vie in a long time!

Went here on holiday with my veggie wife and 1 year old son. They catered well for both off menu and I enjoyed the lunch time menu. Particularly the local sardines. Good value lunch and pleasant surroundings inside. Even a change table in the toilets!

We went back to this restaurant after our last good experience and were not diappointed. The service is excellent and the food very tasty. We took again the pasta with salmon and prawns. As dessert we took an icecream; the icecream was tiramisu from Carte d' Or and was an excellent choice.

Very nice restaurant, friendly service , I had duck and it was a little tough. The fish looked a better choice. Steak was fine but nothing out of the ordinary.

To be clear, Le Boisvinet is a restaurant well-known to us and within walking distance of home--so we have a real interest in its quality. At times, it has been a bit uneven and the menus difficult as one could change nothing. Our last visit, however, made a big impression as the food was truly delicious and the menu well-chosen. As always, the welcome was very warm and gracious. We enjoyed our aperos with the house-made tapenade and cumin madelines as we ordered the menu. All of our party enjoyed the warm oysters with a 'sauce vert' of herbs (incredible!), and three had the filet mignon of pork, which was perfectly tender and cooked pink. I had fish with local 'migottes' (white beans cooked with onion and herbs)) which was also very refined and delicious. For dessert, we split--two for the apple strudel, two for the all-chocolate eclairs. Each course was a pleasure and everyone was completely delighted. The space is large enough to receive big parties and also small tables without difficulties. One of the great comforts is to be able to talk quietly without straining because of the noise around. Best to reserve, especially in the summer months, but it is well-worth the effort. The food is light, savory, and extremely well-prepared.

Family lunch on this beautiful but chilly windswept beach on France's Atlantic coast. GdS is a reasonably smart restaurant. with beach views. Friendly and professional staff. The menu prix fixe is a bargain for a pretty sophisticated lunch in nice surroundings. Interesting and well-priced wine list. Far better than almost all of the surrounding beachside joints. Many Thanks for your comment. We are very pleased that you have spent a pleasant moment with us.We hope to see you again soon in our restaurant.Best Regards,Le Grain de Sable

Ate here late one gorgeous summer evening. The moules mariniece et fries, washed down with an ice cold local muscadet was superb, and very cheap. Good service, food came quickly, but the view over the gorgeous golden beach really topped it off. And my daughter tackled the world's largest ice cream cone! Nothing special....but made very special by the location!

Ate here a few times and loved it every time. Fabulously situated near the beach. Staff are wonderful and very friendly. Food is great and service was good. The chefs burger is lovely and very tasty. Loved our visits there but as the season goes on, I would recommend booking a table because it is very popular. It is family friendly whilst good for couples as well. Lovely restaurant with lovely staff and great food - oh and very reasonably priced. Would recommend definitely.

Come to discover our menus around a table combining local dishes and sea food, share in peace a good time with family or couple in zen and relaxed atmosphere
Always a choice of fish or meat as the main course on the set menu. The oysters (6) as a starter were delicious. Lamb shank was oh so tender and the pear poached in curacao was a delight - see photo. We ate dinner here for a week whilst staying in the Hotel Atlantic and each meal was a delight. We could have chosen from the A La Carte but the set menu was always tempting enough! The staff were attentive and even when the restaurant was busy, the service was always fluid. The chef was willing to cope with variations such as having potatoes instead of rice. We were also able to keep our bottle of wine from one evening to the next. Vegetarians options are available.
