Guided by the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor we made a reservation for a table at this restaurant. I don't understand why people are so enthousiastic about it. We sat outside on a basic terrasse with view on cars that are parked in front of it. The service is friendly and quick while the menu is rather limited and contains mostly fast food like dishes: hamburgers, pizza's,... The appetizers and mussels we ate were just good. The french fries served were brown and fat soaked (I added a picture). This is not a bad restaurant (or rather tavern) but don't come here if you're looking for fine food in a classy atmosphere.

Enjoyable lunchtime meal. Good value menu with oysters and moules. Efficient service. Good with kids and outside terrace seating.

Finding most places closed on a Sunday lunchtime in February, this was a hidden and unexpected gem. Although signing itself as a Creperie, it is much more than that with a wide range of French and tropical foods. It is in a mostly residential area, away from the harbour and its apparently (from their TA reviews) awful tourist-trap restaurants. The decor reflects the Caribbean/African ambience, and there is an outside seating area. there were a good number of diners for February out of season.6 of us ate a wide range, of starters and some lovely main courses, with a superb fish risotto, 4 having a great magret of duck and me a tasty tender entrecote steak. The chef cooks within view and all was well presented and served in a most friendly and helpful manner especially when the dishes on the menu beat my 55 year old French "O" level!A great thank you to our waitress. We did quaff a fair bit of wine and beer, but the bill still came out at a very reasonable 179 Euros, about £22 each, so good value. This restaurant has not been listed as being in St Denis, which it is, just "Ile d'Oleron", so I have advised TripAdvisor of the correct address..

We enjoyed a table up-stairs and outdoors on our final evening with the family - but you need to book. Food is very good, but not exceptional, service was not good. For example, they did not bring our aperitifs! So we cancelled them. It may have been just that evening.Prices OK.Merci pour ce message au plaisir de vous revoir.

We enjoy a galette and fancied something different form all the marvellous seafood available. The children's menu was good as it gave some simple choices and the staff were happy to swop items. The menu was reasonably priced and the children enjoyed a galette, a crepe and a drink. We were a party of nine with 4 adults and 5 children. The adult selection was good ranging from a formula menu or individual choice. We opted for the additional salads for 1⬠which was immense. Excellent meal out and clearly popular.

Super service. Friendly Staff. Beautiful view on the harbor. perfect location with a short distance walk to the beach.A wide range of selection for deserts ranging from Ice-creams and crepes with a whole variety of cocktails available to choose from.It is PLACE which you have to stop and visit once your in Saint-Denis d'Oleron. Its perfect for a morning coffee...a afternoon snack or even for lunch... or late night drinks. It matched my expectations and I highly recommend this place.

It is early in the season so staff probably getting their act together! Setting pleasing overlooking marina although outside area was little breezy on clear but cool evening. Parking off season fine, 150m walk. Food very undistinguished although service was smooth and friendly. With wine meal for three aroundâ¬90. In high season several other restaurants will be open tous jours so plenty of competition and choice.

The Thai Mussels were excellent. The best I have had. There is a selection of mussles in a variety of sauces as well as a large selection of former style crepes and bruchetta. The service was also very good and not expensive.

Very bad service. Arrogant and not too much interested in customer's word. I got overgrilled or literally burned fish with that taste of coal when you take a piece in the mouth. First the arrogant waiter tried to insist it was only the outer part and I can still eat the white parts. Then eventually a few rough and unpleasant comments afterwards they decided to bring another one but the feeling of not being a welcomed customer here and very bad aftertaste remains. If you're in St-Denis d'Oleron and other restaurants are open (I saw next door moules place was very crowded) then go there and ignore le Fleur de Thym. Myslef I would never come back to that place. Never ever.

This restaurant only opened in July 2014 and by October has risen to no 1 on the island ahead of some 160+ eating places.Unpretencious , but themed surroundings with a pleasant staff coupled with dishes of exceptional quality , presentation and value. We went on a Friday lunchtime and there were 24 places occupied out of 28.The service was a little slow ,I think because of the staffing level....I don't think the boss realised he was going to be so busy !Not a massive choice of each course ,but something for everyone .The photos of the dishes tell all !Wine was also reasonably priced
