Restaurant - winstub. Alsatian specialties and traditional. Coocking "House."
We enjoyed our dinner here this evening just returning from Italy where we enjoyed the gourmet food. My wife had the menu and I had a starter and a main course. Starters were really great and surprising in flavor. The main courses were good but more traditional (as could be expected). We had an excellent bottle of languedoc wine - the more expensive one - and concluded with espressos and a cognac each. Total expense was 110 euros which we consider good value for money. We consider revisiting when in the neighborhood.

We were looking for a place called 'jardines les ramperts ' which was on the other end of town, as we later figured. And it was closed anyway. However , we walked into this one in the middle of Obernai . Waiters were semi interested, but we got a table, eventually something to drink and then ordered Starters and main plus a bottle of Pinot Noir. Not a good choice, the PN. Very rough , nothing to write home about. Then we had escargots - mainly hot, not really good. This was followed by steak and choucroute , which were too well done - the steak, and totally without any spirit - the sauerkraut. We retreated and found ourselves a small salon de the to recover on Petit Café and some pastis. The best part of the dinner was the couple on the table next to us, the waiters were unhappy and maybe overwhelmed with the amount of people .

Our hosts at La Villa du Coteau recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The décor is typical of Alsace as was the food. We arrived early and were greeted warmly by the only waitress who did a wonderful job managing a restaurant full of diners. Our meals were great, delicious duck foie gras followed by a schnitzel and perch, very tasty in all respects. Would highly recommend.

Bonjour, La TAVERNE OBERNOISE offers a traditional revisited menu with homemade starters, dishes, and desserts. A seasonal card is also available, with each season its card. And of course the chiefs' suggestions. All our dishes are made from fresh local p
Was in Obernai, quickly had a look at tripadvisor and since this was listed as first, we stepped inside. We were promptly greeted at the door, we opted to sit outside. Menu offers a good selection, staff were nice and polite. As a started I opted for Alsatian salad. It was very basic, lacked presentation and taste, I could have done much better. For main I opted for the Cordon Bleu. The stuffed veal was good, however salad was nothing special and fries overcooked, the simple things they didn't get them right. A bottle of water here will cost you â¬5.60, and no it has no gold leaves in it!!!

We had a twonightstay - a sejour digestif. Well worth the money! The first night we had a dinner with seven different courses. First we had foie gras with a Pinot gris Grand cru, followed by three differnt courses of fish togehther with a Chablis premier cru, a white Chateauneuf de Pape and Pouilly-Fussé - everything was well cooked, the wines were really nice. Then we had a leg of a very young chicken (I guess) accompanied with a red wine from Madiran. The two desserts and coffe. Of course there was a glass of champagne to start the meal with. The other night there was a thre dishes of a more local type. Goose-liver, stuffed leg of coq and dessert of white chocolat. Everything was to our liking and in my opinion even better than the more prestigous one-star restaurant.

le Freiburg is a very popular restaurant. We were lucky to find a table last Saturday evening as we walked in off the street quite late. The place was still packed. The food is good, tasty, traditional fare. The portions substantial. We tried the tarts flambé with wild garlic, delicious; then asparagus with ham, superb; then steak, excellent. We finished off with an ice cream rhum baba. A decent meal. The have an excellent selection of Alsatian wines that are very reasonably priced.

This restaurant has probably one of the best service in the world: attentive, friendly, smiling and professional. Every move is precise and elegant. Glasses are from Baccarat and Candle-holders Lalique. The place is simply perfect. You feel very well in this cosy environment. There is a beautiful old oven (like in a traditional living room) which looks amazing but is a bit too hot! The cuisine is delicious but be warned: very rich and heavy! A lot of sauces, foie gras, truffle etc... If you are looking for traditional french food this restaurant is an excellent choice. Presentation on the plate is also perfect. Dear anomad1,Thank you for sharing with us your experience at LA FOURCHETTE DES DUCS.We were glad to welcome you and now to read that you spent a marvelous time with us. We will, of course, share your comment with all our team.Hoping to welcome you soon again in our RestaurantSincerely.

Choosing the Chef's tasting narrowed the menu a bit and helped me choose. The menu is entirely in French and I needed some translations, as there were many items I was unfamiliar with - not a problem as I am always ready to try something new. Food was excellent. Presentation fantastic. I'm surprised this is TripAdvisor rated number 4 in Obernai as it is truly fantastic food. I will have to see and visit who outranks it.I did not take pictures as we were seated near a very formal group celebrating the holidays and I didn't want to be the Ugly American. Dress code ranged from elegant to tourist and very small children were welcomed. We were staying in the hotel so there was no need to rush and we enjoyed our food, the celebrations around us and the choices other tables made. I look forward to returning.

This restaurant is situated in the centre of the little walled town of Boersch. It serves a variety of food including snacks and more substantial dishes. We ate there twice during our stay in the area. The first evening my husband chose ravioli with mushrooms while I chose melon and cured ham, served with a little glass of port and a salad. We followed this with ice cream. On the second occasion we both chose tarte flambée (an Alasation speciality, rather like a pizza also known as flammekueche) which proved excellent. Prices are modest.
