We arrived without booking at 9pm and only two tables were occupied! The restaurant had no character bright lights and out of place furnishings. No English but a simple three course menu in French for 27 euro pp was easy to navigate. Not a great choice, we had salmon gravelax to start which consisted of a few bits of salmon and some other tasteless fish. Loads of lettuce nothing else. Further horror awaited! We choose the faux fillet which turned out to be a hammered piece of stewing meat as raw as it was when it left its maker! Despite requesting medium rare. It insisted of 50% fat and the rest was inedible.I could not eat it so politely deposited same in my serviette and flushed it down the toilet! Served with a doughy potatoe pureand a tiny portion of tinned veg which was not identifiable. The desert which we had to choose on ordering was a homemade dollop of what seemed like soufflé, we could not recognise or identify with it. I went for Fromage select cheeses and I had three pieces of tasteless cheeses. Not to mention a basket of dried bread. The only consumable item was the St Nicholas Rouge but even that at 25 euro a bottle was over priced! All in all 80 euro for the worst meal I have ever had to pay. Seems like a solo owner, chef, waitress establishment judging by the service!! Drive on by!

This is an unassuming little restaurant a little away from the centre but with top class food and service. The prix fixe lunch menu is extremely reasonably priced and every course was excellent. The host was very welcoming and graciously tolerated our poor French. Book ahead as it is very popular.

One Saturday, a friend and I had lunch here. We made a reservation, which did not seem to be needed. I hoped it was not a bad omen for the restaurant. However the food and service is immpecable. The foie gras was delicate and lovely and the lamb succulent. The server's recommendation of a wine based upon my taste was spot on. The restaurant picked up a bit during our time there but was not incredibly busy. Fortunately as I walked by later than evening, the place was packed. A restaurant such as this one should be one that is patronized!

Visited here with friends and found this restaurant to serve very good food. Starters of ris de veau excellent , mains of duck really tasty. Desserts of maison tart tatin beautiful . WineItâs has some great local producers and is very fairly priced . Certainly worth a visit if in Vouvray.

We were recommended to eat here and were not disappointed. We had the foie gras to start, mains of veal with risotto and chocolate pud with oozy chocolate sauce and redcurrant meringue tart to follow. Brilliant service with a smile from all the staff, a little dish of rillettes du porc as a taster dish whilst we waited.... French dining at a very high level. Highly recommended.

La Guinguette de Lulu Parc on a summer day is buzzing with people, consuming grill food, brought by smiling staff. We were there for lunch, thus missing out on the guinguette music and dancing in the evening. Really good food.

We enjoyed the warm almost familial service in this beautiful restaurant that is well worth the walk away from the main tourist areas of Tours. The indoor garden environment, the friendliness of the staff and the quality and freshness of the carefully prepared food all make it a destination worth seeking out. We would definitely return.

I can honestly say that the lunch we were treated to here, was amazing. Like others have said the location made me a bit quizzical - just a bit strange next to a very busy road, but once inside it was delightful. The level of service hit the right balance and every course ( I think there were 9) was just beautiful. Also the selection of wines - perfectly complimented the courses. The cheese board was of course exceptional, and it was fantastic to be guided through it. This is not the type of restaurant to go into for a quick bite, ( though they do do an express menu, if my mind serves me correctly). Beautiful in every respect and staff who took a delight in their work. This is a restaurant I would return to in a heartbeat.

This is a restaurant that has a very limited menu and it does not follow the style of food normally seen in French Cuisine. There were none of the French standard type dishes on the menu the night we were there but being adventurous with our food (and appreciating inventiveness and quality) my wife and I were very happy. It makes great use of local produce and of course dispenses the local wines. We both had the marinated sardines, tiny strips of fish with an interesting dressing. Then my wife what on the face of it would be a traditional sausage dish as her main course but it was cut into chunks, sauced and and served with an interesting mix of vegetables and asparagus. I had baked cod with a delicious top crust of a form of pate. The fish was beautifully cooked and resting on a bed green vegetables - broad beans featuring prominently, with occasional little chunks of softly poached rhubarb. It really worked. We weren't tempted by the desserts though - we had to leave relatively early to meet up with some friends. Service was great. There is a big wine list but no half bottles. We had wines by the glass - our hostess chose the wines to match the food. Sitting outside on the terrace was lovely and there were blankets to keep us warm on what was a relatively cool night. Nice evening. Good value for a high quality eating experience.

We visited this restaurant after finishing lunch at La Roche Le Roy at 3pm.Nice cool structure and entrance, welcoming staff and good wine selection. We tried the squid, pigeon and prawns/langoustine and soufflé. Overall, the squid was the best. The other dishes were very good but not much of the wow factor. On this vacation, we ate at 9 Michelin restaurants in Tours and Paris.Between the above 2 restaurants in Tours, we still prefer La Roche.
