I was actually heading to a different restaurant, which turned out to be closed, when I passed Kitchen Love. Had seen it in Tripadvisor, took a look at the menu that looked great. But it also looked closed. It wasn't - it was just empty. I was welcomed inside and for more than half an hour I was the sole guest. My Italian is, ahem, pretty poor. But a menu in English was found and I ordered a starter (scormazza cheese skewers wrapped in bacon, on a citrus sauce) and main course (pork fillet wrapped in bacon - do you see a theme here?) and side order of porcini mushrooms. And a glass of local wine. It was all great! The starter was tasty and just the right size and although I thought "citrus with cheese" would be a bit weird, it worked really well. The main course was also great, and the mushrooms really wonderful. Although I was pretty full I wanted to try a dessert and went for a mille-feuille made from honey-caramel crackers filled with milk and white chocolate mousses, with a strawberry sauce. Although the mousses were a little on the heavy side, the taste was again great and the crackers were a highlight. Eventually some other diners came in and seemed to enjoy the food. I really liked it and would definitely recommend it. It was not "cheap" but, for the quality and quantity I was perfectly happy to pay 50 euros. Would go again!

A contemporary and elegant restaurant. Lovely on a summer evening, overlooking Lake Albano. Good classical Italian dishes but also with some flair and creativity. We had a tasty and pleasant dinner of seafood courses. I had my favourite dessert of Tiramisu while my husband had panna cotta with creme caramel. All portion sizes were just about right and the service was friendly and efficient. Prices a bit on the high side.

This hidden gem on the Piazza Gariboldi is warm and inviting with friendly staff who speak excellent English and even when we tried to speak basic Italian were good enough to help with our pronunciation. The decor was well finished with traditional touches that made you feel that you were about to be served a good home cooked meal.As it was lunch time we skipped the starter and just went for a pasta course, mine was Pasta with Gorgonzola & Radicchio. which was first class. The wine was recommended and of course we went for a fine white Frascati recommended by the waitress which was excellent and not expensive at 20 euro a bottle. To finish I had the Tiramisu which was as light as a cloud. followed by a strong espresso to wake me up for the rest of the time walking around this gem of a town. This is a must visit restaurant and worth a trip up to this hill top town overlooking Rome. if you go around dusk and stand near the walls at the north of Frascati you will see the lights coming on all over Rome. Very atmospheric. I would recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit.

We had lunch here at out first day in Albano Laziale. We had antipasti starter meat and fish, pasta carbonara, pasta amatriciana, ravioli with spinach and ricotta and some sort of fish with pasta. Every dish was magnificent. The service was excellent. A very good experience.

This place has a quaint but lively alley location. Besides having yummy food they also have great service. They go out of there way to make you feel welcome. We don't usually go back to the same place twice on a trip but went here 3 times. The owner remembered us and made us feel like regulars.

Lovely and charming place that does not look very appealing from the outside but we went there on recommendation of our B&B.Not disappointing! The restaurant is filled with locals (always a good sign!), service is good (some English will do) and the pasta... a real delight! Excellent choice is you go there and get a table (better to book)!

Dal 1969 Il Castellaccio da Secondo, a disposizione per pranzi, cene, eventi, siamo a vostra disposizione
I went there with my boyfriend with a Groupon. When we arrived the waiter who recieved us instead of walking us to the table just pointed it and said: "that's your table". Not the best way to start. They poured the wine, and some "spumante" and pretty fast got our antipasti, that was, like some other review mentioned, a quite dissapointing, low-quality, little ammounts, way to start. While we were eating these antipasti (My mouth was literally full with food) the woman who we guessed was in charged came to take our order. (Would have it been really too much to ask to take the order before we started the antipasti or when we had just finished it???) Very rudly she asked what did we wanted, assumming that since we came with a Groupon ticket we had memorized our menu options from home. My partner asked me if I could remember the names, which of course I didn't (Being not italian make it hard for me to remember so many options), not even then she tried to be helpfull by reminding us what our choices were...Finally, when we could swallow our food we asked her what the options were, what she did feeling clearly upset (I still wonder why, Isn't it her job?).The pasta we had with funghi porcini was low average, I'm not an expert (again not italian), but my boyfriend was positive the boletus were frozen ones, while on the menu was specifically written they would be fresh..The meat course was even worse..We had read some bad reviews about that place, but all of them related to fish courses, so we decided to give a meat menu a try: BELIEVE Me YOU BETTER DON'T...the meat was bad quality, cheewy, tasteless and very bad presented. The side dish that was "patate duchesa" were hard potato pieces fried with some rosemary herbs...The dish where served was hot, really hot, but the potatoes were cold inside and disgusting...The dessert was the best of the menu, but considering what I wrote is saying very little about it. We had an average Tiramisu and a mousse of Fruitti del bosco...One could think that the fact of bothering a client while eating to ask them what they wanna order could be in order to provide a better service, and have the food ready, so the customer doesn't have to wait from course to course...not the case...The service was really poor, and we had to wait a big ammount of time from course to course..I will not detail their unprofessionality but as a sample I would say some waiter left the kitchen smoking...In conclusion: we paid 20⬠per person for a very bad quality food and an even worse service... I wondered exactly the same thing the other "terrible review" asked herself: is this is what you have to offer, I really don't wanna imagine you organizing and catering a wedding banquet....PS: the bread was hard and dry...
