Reviews on European food in Riomaggiore, Liguria, Italy. Riomaggiore (Rimazùu in the local Ligurian language) is a village and comune in the province of La Spezia, situated in a small valley in the Liguria region of Italy. It is the first of the Cinque Terre one meets when travelling north from La Spezia.

This place in Vernazza was the best meal we had in the Cinque Terra area! The gnocchi and salmon cream sauce brought me to tears of joy! And it's the only place in the whole of Italy that served not only edible bread, but wonderful and delicious bread, but they are also a bakery. The service was warm, friendly, and charming. This is where you come for good food and not overpriced crap with a view. Here the view is a parking lot. But who cares when you have dishes of this calibre and quality. We were staying in Manarola and took the 5 minute train ride over after reading the exhaulted reviews! Thanks for sharing such a gem! There is also an incredible cocktail bar at the bottom of the ramp from this place called the five senses (in Italian of course Cinque Sensi). Will review that next!

We visited three times while staying in Cinque Terre! The food is excellent, and the service was wonderful! Great, casual food and very welcoming people.

Absolutely stunning view over Riomaggiore and Cinque Terre! If you're travelling up the coast on SP370 (from La Spezia, for instance) you sure don't want to miss this!We stopped for coffee and an icecream only, but surely you would enjoy having something more foodish to accompany the beauty of this coast. In any case: stop your car!

Arrived at Veciu Muin without a reservation and already people were queuing to get in. The waiter at the front of the restaurant asked us if we could wait 10/15 minutes. He did a great job communicating with the queue and kept us and everyone else waiting updated on their tables progress. Once inside we ordered various pizza and pasta dishes both containing gluten and gluten free. The waiter had excellent knowledge of which dishes could be adapted to gluten free and which ones had to be avoided due to cross contamination. Our son who is coeliac ordered pizza and said it was the best of his holiday. I would recommend anyone in Riomaggiore who needs safe gluten free food to choose Veciu Muin.

Rio Bistro offers a wide selection of fish, meat and wine. All first quality, selected by the chef on local availability. Wide selection of local wines and not, suggested to you by the sommelier. We look forward to lunch and dinner in the marina of Riomag

PLEASE NOTE: OUR PLACE IS NOT A RESTAURANT No reservation is required. Closed in case of bad weather.
I called to ask for a table next to the water since it was my birthday. Turns out, all the tables offer excellent views of the water/sunset. Simone (host at front) was so gracious. Not a large menu but reasonably priced and good food. My waiter was kind and funny, despite the large crowds.

We walked up the hill each night we were here to enjoy our gin and tonics and delicious food. The location is set amongst the buildings under the clock tower. Over looking the sea below and vine yards above. Hospitality is fantastic and the ladies who owned the cafe made us feel like locals after the 2nd visit. Sit and watch the tourists stroll by or the locals who meet on the bench every night for a chat. Worth the effort to walk up the hill
