Coolâ¦Large restaurant, cool atmosphere, noisy room, professional âserious facedâ service. Also large parking space. Place to go for large groups or when on business⦠not a bit romantic!Actually the food was quite good. The portions were ample and a large salad bowl was served with the meal. I had grilled quails. Normally you get two of them but to my surprise I got three. My wife took rabbit, luckily only half a dose otherwise she wouldn´t have been able to handle. Also well cooked. We took the house red wine which was very cheap (2.40 ⬠for a bottle), drinkable but nothing more. Anyhow for this price couldn´t expect much more.

Facing the old national 1 route 1 in the Oeste portuguese region this good looking restaurant hás nice areas and with not so caring old fashion employees seems one of the best in the area The House specialities are good but not excepcional and the Wine chart is reasonable The service has a lot to improve

I recently visited this restaurante as it was recommended by some friends. The appetizers were absolutely delicious (shrimp and meat patties, bread, olives, fresh cheese, eggs). For my main dish I chose frango which came on a large dish with fries, rice and salad as well. My friends ordered the house famous 'bacalhau na telha'. All of our food came in generous portions. The coffee was also great. The next time I'm in Rio Maior I will definitely be going back and recommending to anyone who asks!

When faced with the decision of trying something new, my family promptly recalled a recommendation from one of our dear friends that mentioned the restaurant of this promising young chef in a nearby village. Since it was close to our home, we decided why not and it was the best decision we could've made. Arrouquelas, in Rio Maior, is a small and quiet village filled with charming people and the restaurant was right in the middle, easy to spot from the street. Once inside we were greeted both by its stunning interior design and their warm and welcoming server to whom we spoke often throughout the dinner and the occasion so much more special. The first you notice, after you're done being wowed by the beauty and simplicity of their modern-meets-country design, is that kitchen is right there for you to see. The chef's area is open for anyone who wishes, like I did, to peek and see what was going on, and the chef himself often invited guests to see as if he was cooking in your own home. I think that's the beauty of the place, the way it can make you feel right at home. When presented with the menu, we were unsure of what to order, and since we're not used to gourmet, we always fear we'll order something we won't fully enjoy but our server quickly proposed we left it to the chef to pick our meal, and since we were feeling adventurous we all figured why not. This was also the best choice we could've made since what happened next was a party of elegance and divine flavors that left us stunned and longing for more. Unlike what we expected from lack of gourmet experience, the portions were perfectly sized and distributed, we even felt full in the end! We chatted back and forth with the chef, took pictures with him and his amazing food; we felt immediately at home and cared for. Maeluisa has definitely made themselves four new costumers and we will spread the word about this phenomenon hidden in the quaint village of Arrouquelas. And trust me, leave it up to the chef when you visit!

Restaurante tipico . Cozinha Tardicional Portuguesa restaurante familiar adega tipica vinhos regionais
Seen from outside this restaurant is not really inviting. We actually hesitated before entering. However, inside (at least in the room where we were seated, there is also another one) the atmosphere is quite charming with an abundant decoration of local items and pictures. The reception is friendly and the service throughout the meal was professional.Very early I encountered a major problem. The wine list (book) is about the longest one I have ever seen in Portugal. After long reading and a waiter who came along a couple of times I decided for a Pedro, Casa Cadaval. First impression was OK but strangely the wine weakened during the meal. Next time (because there will be a next time!) Iâll have to continue my study of the wine listâ¦Not the traditional olives as starter but a wide selection of mini plates. We limited ourselves to the pigsâ ears and squid. Other starters looked also tempting but we still had a meal to goâ¦My main dish was an in wine marinated goat: excellent! Only miner points were the vegetables which were cold and as often is the case in Portuguese restaurants the meat contained many bone splinters. My wife took boar on a hot stone. Tasted also excellent. To end on a healthy note we choose as dessert the fruit selection instead of the sweets selection. Very original presentation of 9 different fruits in 9 glass bowls. You can mix and serve yourself. Trying several fruits I fell for the âpêra bêbedoâ or drunken pear. As always I ordered a coffee to end and surprise, surprise it came with a large selection of sweets⦠which was very much appreciated (there went the effect of a healthy dessertâ¦).Overall a very enjoyable meal in a nice restaurant. Recommendable!

A nice place with original menu and tasty food. The only minor was that the Sangria was too sweet. But in general I would recommend a visit!Thank you for your visit, hope to see you soon.Kind regards,The manager
