Pro:- sehr ruhige Lage- ausreichend Parkplätze- schöner AuÃenbereich Naja:- kleines Speisenangebot- Service wirkt ungelernt- Essensqualität könnte geschmacklich besser seinContra:- nichtsFazit: Gasthaus sollte Service besser schulen und in Sachen Speisen-Qualität zulegen. Die Lage und das Ambiente sind klasse ! Da könnte man deutlich mehr draus machen.
We now the area pretty well, however it was the first time we went to the Bergrestaurant Stierenberg. We walked up to the restaurant in about 45-60 minutes. There was quite some snow and it was a lovely hike with some great views. We were warmly greeted by the hosts of the restaurant which is in family hand. We really felt at home. There is even a place for the smaller kids to play. The food was tipical Swiss food for a Bergrestaurant and it was very good, and the portions were really big! After lunch we could even rente a sledge and we had a great ride down to Bretzwil. All in all it was a great experience and a big surprise. We will definitly go again! Can highly recommend if you want to do something local!

Run by Italians - great value, good sized portions. Staff very friendly and very helpful. Good atmosphere well used by locals who seemed to be regulars , we were recommend by our hotel -And it was just what we needed , relaxed informal with an outside area round the back . Good was good quality and wine was reasonably priced â¬50 for two , three course meal with a bottle of wine and coffee.

Highly interesting interior design and architecture.Cosy athmosphere and two ladies who present home-made haute cuisine with a smashing smile and make you comfortable. The grilled salmon as well as the gnocchi were a good recommendation. The only disadvantage when sitting on the terrace is the rather noisy rush hour traffic. A wooden palisade might help. ;-)

Three of us enjoyed superb, mainly local food. The service was very good and the staff made some excellent and informed recommendations regarding wine and food. From the outside the restaurant looks a little less welcoming than it might, but once inside the surroundings are clean, more modern than many German restaurants, light and airy with plenty of room between the tables to make the experience more personal and intimate if required.

Surrounded by beautiful win yards the Traube Hanweiler is the perfect place to enjoy excellent German cuisine and outstanding service with family, friends or a nice dinner just the two of you. Me and my family are guests at the Traube since many years and we have never been dissapointed. The food is fresh and every meal i have had was fabulous. The staff is very welcoming and you feel in good hands right from the moment you walk in. So if you live there or are in the area and want to eat excellent and high quality German food, the Traube Hanweiler is the place to go.

We went with our friends to dinner here on a weekday evening. We went to the smaller restaurant location as the other is used for weddings and other large parties which we also attended for a wedding dinner the week before. The owner and his wife and son greeted us warmly when we arrived. Our friends are German so it's no problem ordering but upon knowing we were Americans they spoke English with us and gave us English menus. The pleasant unhurried pace of our evening was refreshing. The owner thoughtfully explained that their restaurant offers local and regional specialities of food and wine not found in other restaurants. Because the mushrooms were in season, all of us had the mushroom and noodles. OMG! The mildly rich buttery flavor of this dish is to die for! The salads were fresh fresh fresh. The wine selection was extensive and our friends knew the right local wines to pick. The desserts we picked included homemade mint ice cream with dried apples and whipped cream and apricots with pancake wheels with whipped cream and orange flavored sauce. We sampled each other's to complete our delightful savory experience! Highly recommended!

Very good food and excellent service!! Left the place far from hungry. Only bad thing is lack of accessibility for disabled people.

Ate here one evening before a business meeting by invitation. The place is what is expected from a place serving German cuisine at its very best. The menus are seasonal - but of cause with some of the standards, but why got for that when there are so many local dishes with seasonal raw materials incorporated. For a starter I had Maultashe in der Brühe - and even though Maultashen is officially declared a regional speciality of Schwaben, there are clearly variations on the theme.Whereas I previously had got Maultashen in the concept of oversize ravioli, this was more like a Roulade cake in slices about 2 cm thick (I should note that I had got something similar in Trier and thought is a slight misunderstanding - this is now corrected). But anyway - just delicious! As a main cause I had pork tenderloin (from a local special pork) with mushrooms (chanterelles - at least most of it) and spätzle. The tenderloin which was extremely - pardon the pun - tender, and the accompanying mushroom sauce was just so spicy and concentrated that it fitted perfectly to the meat and spätzle. After that I had to give in - no room for dessert aside from a double espresso and a local weinbrand.Highly reccomendable.
