This hotel is right on the lake and you can watch the sun go down. The Service is excellent and the food very good. A very wide selection of fish. The Fish Platter is worth trying bit you will need 2 big esters to finish it.

While cycling through Reichenau Island, we came across this gem â we almost missed the sign that said Biergarten, but were astonished at the freshness and quality of the salads and food available. It really looked like it had been (and it probably was) just picked freshly just 30 minutes earlier. It is much much better quality than the café at the entrance to the island (beside the car park, opposite the church).Take that extra 3 minutes to cycle (or 1 minute to drive) to the Reichenauer Salatstube â it will be worth it!Whether you want just a "Radler" shandy in the shade in the beer garden, or a full meal in the greenhouse section or outdoors, it really has everything. We had excellent coffee and cheescake to round off our meal also. This was our fourth trip to Reichenau but, the first time that we noticed the Reichenauer Salatstube. We will be back next time, for sure!

Parking lot directly across the street. Nicely appointed locals restaurant with outdoor dining available. Service was over the top perfect. Servers all spoke english and had english menus. Great menu selections. Bratwurst was excellent, Wild Gulasch was authentic and portion was large. Wurstsalat was HUGE even small portion and so good!!! Love this place. Excellent value.

Gasthaus Hirschen is one of the several restaurants with excellent local cuisine found in small villages along and near Lake Constance. Hirschen in Horn/Gaienhofen on the so-called âHoeriâ is family run, the owner always around helping with seating arrangements and service. Meat, fish and vegetables come from the local butchers, farmers and fishermen. On recommendation by the very efficient and friendly waitress my wife had a Saibling (local fish), our friend a lamb ragout and I had a fish soup and beef from the ox, all very delicious and in generous portions. Although the restaurant was fully occupied, inside, and outside in the beer garden, the service was very friendly and fast.

we decided to walk down to the ferry area at dinner time and then have an outdoor sunset dinner. while we could not see the sunset, it was nice being outside in the large exterior seating area. The food was very good, especially the curry soup. Our server was very friendly with good english. Again sticker shock for prices for what you get, but at least an enjoyable meal in an enjoyable setting.

We stumbled into this local restaurant after visiting the Church of St. Maria and Markus and the harbour. We decided to have lunch here since it exclusively serves regional cuisine of Lake Constance. My boyfriend had âMaultaschenâ (ravioli) while I decided to try the local fish, âHechtâ (pike). Both dishes were very delicious. Unfortunately I couldnât fully enjoy my dish; while the fillets were amazingly fresh and flavourful, they were full with bones. I wished the waiter could have told me about this as I never had pike before and I found out later that pike fillets tend to have bones. All in all, it is a nice place to try the regional cuisine and it is well located in the city centre, very close to main attractions.

Arrived at the campsite around lunch and managed to find a table on the balcony right next to the water. The restaurant was very busy but the staff all had a friendly attitude despite the pressure. The food is delivered to your table, but the drinks you take yourself. Food is really good and typically southern German, with a few local fish dishes. They serve local wine and good beer both of which are reasonably priced. Plates are a bit small for the portions. The food was cooked fresh and was lovely. If you are staying at the campsite you will probably be tempted, if not, give it a try ! Oh and guard your table if you get one next to the water you will get asked all the time by people wanting it !

Even for Reichenau, this place is off the beaten track. An excellent place though. Interior decor like an old fashioned pub, food *wonderful*. Two very tasty 3 course meals with drinks 80 euros. Very ample portions, delicious honest food.My wife had a honey dressed gosts cheese salad, grilled salmon with asparagus risotto and an almond mousse with fresh strawberries. I had cream of asparagus soup, entrepreneur with fried potatoes and vanilla parfait with raspberry could and fresh fruit. Very friendly hosts. All in all, highly recommended.
