Find out what European restaurants to try in Regensburg. Founded by the Romans in 179 AD as Casta Regina (meaning Fortress by the River Regen), Regensburg is one of Germany's oldest towns. It was relatively spared from Allied bombings during World War II. Today, many flock to see the wonderfully intact old city and its many medieval structures. The 12th-century Stone Bridge was used by Crusaders en route to the Holy Land. The Regensburg Cathedral (or Dom St. Peter) is one of southern Germany's finest examples of Gothic architecture.

Perhaps we were getting a bit over familiar with pork dishes on our Bavarian holiday but they were certainly very tasty here; roast pork, schnitzel cordon bleu, sauerkraut and dumplings, all washed down by the excellent light Kneitinger beer. Friendly atmosphere, and the service was excellent.

Thanks to other Trip Advisor reviews we tried this just around the corner from our hotel. Salads clearly made from fresh from the garden ingredients. Pasta freshly made. Seasoning of my wife's grilled shrimp just right combination of herbs; amazing ragout sauce and tender lamb chunks on my pasta.

I spent a wonderful evening at Rinaldi with two of my most esteemed business partners. We were thrilled by the great service both Chris and Lorenzo provided to us. The wine card is mediocre at best and for an Italian place very disappointing. Should you be in Regensburg and want an amazing dinner with top wine, please check Luna Rosa, you will be getting better food and wine, while service at Rinaldi is top notch.

I´ve been here for supper on a business trip. Service (two women) professional and very attentive. After having finished half of my "Krustenbraten" they asked me to bring some additional sauce. Quality and quantity of food and dessert were excellent. Comfortable atmosphere. It was exactly the business I was looking for. Strong recommendation.

The Regensburger Wheat-brewery was founded in 1620 as a municipal enterprise. At present this brewing tradition, in accordance with the Bavarian Reinheitsgebot, the purity requirement, is being continued successfully by the family Deutsch, a line of publi
Friends and I on Viking Cruise ventured into this place. Had a great time at this two story restaurant that is looks just like what youâd picture a German restaurant or beer hall should be. We had great service and great food. Wiener schnitzel was two huge patties and another dish was a buttery, cheesy spaetzle that was delicious. Very good beer. Highly suggest and easy 15 minute walk from our dock.

As Orphee likes to refer to itself, is true, the Frenchiest restaurant in Regensburg. The food was very good, the service sort of adequate. It seemed to be understaffed. Wine selection adequate, but not extensive, but its the tiny wine glasses that are really annoying. A small garden, which is better choice on a hot evening, funky artwork on the walls, inside much more of a brassierie vibe and quite pretty.

Wolfabarsch vom Grill mit frischem Gemüse.Hähnchenbrustfilet mit Parmaschinken in WeisweinsoÃe, dazu Bandnudeln und Beilagensalat. Location: walking distance from Regensburg train station and the university. It's not located within the city center. But it's well worth the visit while you're here in Regensburg.Timeliness: We arrived @2115 and our food was delivered at 2145. Well worth the wait given the food that we ordered. The chicken and the fish. The staff were very friendly and helpful in the ordering. The food!: The fish was absolutely delicious. The meat just slide right off the bone. It was very well seasoned. I wish I had more to eat afterwards. The glasses were really small (0.4l German standard) so I was out of my beverage before my meal was finished. I have no complaints about my main dish. There was nothing extraordinary about the ice cream. It was yummy too. My boyfriend's chicken dish included self-made pasta. However, the meal was very salty. We weren't sure if it was supposed to be like that or the kitchen made a mistake. We spoke with the waiter and he explained that the meal shouldn't have been salty. So we are not sure what happened but the waiter offered us an espresso. Price: The price for the food is well worth it. I believe the food is reasonable priced.Overall I highly recommend this restaurant. Even though the chicken was salty this time. All of my previous and enjoyable visits to this restaurant makes up for this mistake. Therefore, I give this restaurant 5 stars!
