We ate at Sámara Pacific Lodge in early December. Very friendly, and delicious food. Also pretty reasonably priced for a nice dinner- $37 for two entrees and a glass of wine. It was romantic for couples but was also family friendly. If we had stayed longer than 3 nights in Sámara, we would have returned.

Passed this bistro several times heading to my hotel and it always seemed busy, one evening nearing the end of my stay I decided to stop and explore. Was pleasantly surprised on the outcome, nicely presented in all manners, the menu, the wine,the food and the ambiance. It was a really nice experience and the Sauvignon Blanc wine was well selected and reasonably priced. If your in the area I would certainly recommend a visit,even just for a glass of wine and a chat in the ambiance, SuperbThank you very much for your kind review John ! Ate a waffle and had a mango smoothie here yesterday. Nestled in a small side walkway leading to Tamarindo beach the Waffle Monkey is a great option if you want a morning breakfast to go and then walk a few short steps to the beach to eat. A few tables outside great view and tasty waffles. My son had the cheese and ham waffle while I had the mango smoothie. Had s friendly iguana stop by our table too. Nice folks run the Waffle Monkey. Well done guys!!!Thank you so much for such a detailed review. We can't thank you enough for giving other people an insight to the experience they will have when they visit Waffle Monkey. Caballo Negro was recommended to us and we are so glad we stopped! We were so impressed with the ambiance, the view, the food, the service...everything spectacular! We chose a spinach omelet which was loaded with spinach and came with the best curried potatoes I have ever eaten. AND fresh fruit! Couldn't resist the homemade apple strudel either! Monika is not only a fabulous cook she is an artist and actually made the beautiful tables in the restaurant. After you eat be sure to browse the shop with locally made items and artwork. This was one of our most memorable and enjoyable stops during our month in Costa Rica. I highly recommend this gem!Thanks so much for the review, and glad we made your visit to Costa Rica memorable. And next time try the Corned Beef Hash. We are the only ones around who serve that, along with the Reuben for lunch. Hope to see you again soon.

Trust me, being a foodie from Los Angeles has afforded me the opportunity to enjoy many great eats from around the world. Although, I have not traveled to Italy, I imagine that Enea's is a part of Italy that has miraculously transported itself to Tamarindo, Costa Rica. This hidden gem is off of the main strip and wonderfully so. You get to enjoy some of the best homemade food in the seclusion of a private, quiet, and quaint tropical setting... not to mention, great service! I can't say enough about this place. My husband and I went for dinner and I have to say it was REALLY good. We had 2 smoked salmon croquets, 2 pinchos each of smoked sea bass and chirizo with cheese and then we shared a ration of their Cajun sea bass with potatoes alioli and a bottle of wine. Everything was excellent! The sea bass was salty but that just fine with me! They also brought us a starter tapa at no charge. The bill came to about $50 Canadian. The service and the timing of the plates were perfect and we left fully satisfied.

This family run Villa sports the BEST restaurant in Costa Rica. Patrick, the Chef is phenomenal and has cooked for royalty and many US Presidentâs.The food is exquisite, perfectly executed and incredible tasting. Dean (Patrickâs son) loves to fish and the specialty of the day is always his catch. Fantastic family, super friendly (you are welcomed like an old friend) , we went twice and could have ate there again and again. Simply the BEST! Thank you!

We were a family of 4 and Monique and Andre were fantastic hosts that provided a unique dining experience in their beautiful home! The food experience ranged from black caviar on white chocolate to a quail egg on caramelized onions. They also offered many different types of wine that paired nicely with each meal. We all left full and very satisfied! I would highly recommend this if you are looking to try different foods outside of the typical Costa Rican seafood. We had a great time!
