The restaurant is secluded in the fields and can be difficult to find.Friendly welcome from the host.Initially we had some to wait a long time for our appetizer, but after this, it all went very smoothly. We had someone in our group who ate glutenfree. We had previously reported this by the reservation and it was fully implemented as required. The dishes were made extremely fresh and finely finished. We were all pleasantly surprised from the offered dishes. The price is fair for what we got. We will definitely honor this restaurant with a new visit !

The restaurant is part of the Hotel de la Paix.
We just popped into Cafe de la Paix after visiting Talbot House as we were in need of a late lunch. We really enjoyed the experience in the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. My sister and I ordered pancakes and my husband had a croque madame. The food was excellent and good value for money. The pancakes were light and fluffy and filled with delicious fresh fruit - my husband reported that his meal was very good too. If we return to Poperinge we will definitely eat there again.

As expected, 't Hommelhof has a great beer selection featuring several beers literally brewed across the street. However, the food is the most distinguishing characteristic of this restaurant. We had the rabbit, which was beautifully prepared. It was cooked in a blonde beer with vegetables. It was so tender and impressively delicious without any sort of "gamey" taste. The server even remarked that the rabbit was caught that morning. Another member of our party had the pigeon, which was also expertly prepared. The service here was great and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in the area.

It is evident they don need more customers: ppl serving has been simply absurd, long long time waiting, bad answers when asked for a menu, bad answer asking for info about the renewed beer. Finally I was unable to place my order and had to walk away.Simply absurd

Good Belgian quality beer ( Keizer Karel and Bruine Tongerlo ) and a Crocque Monsieur with salad. Great taste. A restaurant for a quick snack, great lunch or dinner!Always welcome! Really pleasant experience - restaurant is always nice - good staff and service, as per usual. My two colleagues behaved themselves in front of their âSuperiorâ and desisted with a long running joke - to that I say âthanks.â Yes, sheâs magnificent, and adore her, so good to quit it.I myself had a simple tuna croquette with chips - very nice indeed. They both had steaks, which they said were very fine indeed.Enjoyable lunch.

Had both 3-course dinner and a gastronomic supper there. The hostess goes out of her way to please, the setting is in an old town mansion where also Hotel Recour is located. Both during the 3-course dinner and the 6-course menu the food was light and excellent: quality ingredients, pure tastes nice presentation. The wine arrangement for the 6-course was very good and surprising (not a French wine in sight), with a few unexpected (but pleasant) touches. Prices of wine per bottle are rather high. Wine cannot be ordered by the glass.

Enjoy in a quiet and relaxe atmosphere. Pleasant prices.Fresh food. Traditionnal cuisine. 2 terasses. Fireplace. 3 rooms all with own shower and toilet.
Great little restaurant on the square in Watou. Small and intimate, you feel that you are a guest in someone's home. The wall mural and quirky table add to the atmosphere, and the food was excellent. I've said "yes" to kids, but it would be a best behaviour rather than running around place.
