Le Balthazar is a restaurant with a warm and friendly atmosphere in the middle of old stones. The kitchen is made in front of you on the embers in a majestic fireplace. It feels like home, around a good table with homemade cuisine made from fresh, local,
Le Balthazar is a quirky little wine bar in the old town of Paimpol which serves food. There is a good selection of wines, and some nice platters. The hot food is rustic and excellent value for money, all locally sourced. We had a huge plate of belly pork with sautéed potatoes and salad. Absolutely gorgeous and very filling! The restaurant is very small and cosy. The service was great. A lovely place to have lunch.

Myi husband and our friend chose a set menu, but I only wanted one course, so chose the moules with an option of sauces. The two chaps chomped their way through a lovely starter, a buckwheat tagliatelle, with white cheese and fish.....with the obligatory gorgeous French bread and butter. Then time for the main course.....my moules mariniere was beautifully served, with fires...the boys had steak, equally beautifully presented.Sadly our friend, who has many health issues was unwell, our hostess was fantastic, really empathetic, understanding, even amended the bill deducting the boys desserts, as we needed to get our friend back home PDQ.However, we intend to be back for lunch next week, and back on Friday for dinner,,,, with some friends .....so in conclusion, the food was excellent, the service fantastic, the empathy and understanding given the circumstances unblelieveable, so thank you for everybody concerned.

Fresh foods from French provinces and beyond, Changing weekly, for those whom love to dine and love wine.
We stayed in Paimpol only to eat here. There were six of us and good job we had booked as the restaurant soon was full. The imaginative dishes (I'm sure I had a pig ear for a starter) kept coming along with springingly delicious aperitives and cocktails. Not enough start to say how good it was. Magnificent.

Itâs always good to return somewhere and find your positive impressions confirmed. So coming back to Le 5 after a year could have been an anti-climax but wasnât; despite being the only customers for lunch on market day (hard to understand) we left very satisfied. Their formula works well, offering a single menu with variations - so three courses for 30 euros, the possibility of two at lunchtime for 22 euros, and a couple of specials for a 5 euro supplement. The food was again imaginative, clever, quite beautifully presented, and worthy of greater recognition from Michelin. Hard to pick out particular plates, because the tartellete of sardines was gorgeous and both the cod and the fillet of sole main courses quite outstanding. Very pretty desserts from a chef who likes moulds!Sadly, the wine list lacks a bit of variety but on the other hand it is kept cheap (nothing much above 25 euros) and the wines are good examples of their varieties. An excellent Oc Viognier tasted very fine and was worth more than we paid. This place really is worth the visit if youâre in this area - you wonât eat as well for so little very often.

We got a friendly welcome. The interior of the restaurant is modern and stylish. The service was friendly and everything was clearly thought about and food served to a plan. The amuse Bouche of crab and saffron mousse was lovely. There are two set menus and an a la carte menu. The chef takes care to come and explain his dishes to you. The poulet with pruneaux I had as a starter was delicious, the veal ribs I had as a main just did not work....far too much fat and the meat was not tender enough to cut it from the bone and separate it from the fat easily. Pannacotta for dessert was largely flavourless with too much gelatine in it. My friends selection of desserts was lovely. So clearly run by someone who cares about food, service and presentation, but some of the dishes on the menu need work to make them memorable. Thanks for your comment !I change my veal for another meat ! sorry for that

If pizzas were not so calorific I would eat here every week - they are just the best - plenty of tasty toppings on a super perfectly cooked base. Their other dishes are really good too, I've tried them all. The desserts are to die for, especially the profiteroles and it is always served with a smile. The young couple who own this restaurant go out of their way to ensure the clients have a good experience as well as good food. It is a good job I don't live in Lezardrieux all year round - I'd be the size of an elephantMerci de votre visite. Nous espérons vous revoir chez nous. Merci d avoir pris le temps de faire ce retour. Merci pour vos mots. A bientôt.

The Entre-Pot, created in 2017, is a place with a unique and atypical decor, warm. The restaurant offers home-cooked food, unique Belgian fries and carefully prepared French dishes at a reasonable price. You will have lunch in an old print shop decorated
Not a usual restaurant with great concept that makes you feel like home!! All the food are homemade and menu is different everyday. They bring you the good as how it would be served as if you were at home! So warm and cozy! If you want to have a romantic date you can also make a reservation to have a little table for two in the caravan. Definitely worth a visit!

This quirky little wholefood restaurant is in the grounds of the Chateau de la Roche Jagu, the showpiece of the Cotes d'Armor. Visit the chateau and its stunning exhibitions, different every year; walk round the glorious and extensive grounds - these are free, and never close! - and if you want a simple, good value, environmentally sound lunch, visit Le Petit Jagu. The decor is simple, modern. colourful, fun. You can choose a vegetarian of "Carnivore" meal of two courses - the main dish will be small but beautifully prepared, accompanied by rice and a small salad and fresh vegetable - we had pork satay and spare ribs, could have had lentil curry - and a choice between four desserts, the far (Breton flan) and tartes, all made with local fruit, are delicious. Drink cider - buy a bottle as the glasses are expensive - and follow up with coffee or a tea from the huge list of exotically named and delicious infusions (Mine was called"The dream of the humming-bird"!). You will find the "green loos" fascinating too - completely odour-free, and composted afterwards and used on the gardens! Give this restaurant a go - it's hippy and happy.

Called in for a swift half. Belgian beer, fish and chips, sat outside early evening. Service quick and friendly. Little black dog joined us such a sweetie, likes fish! This pub/bistro is popular with locals and tourists alike. Entertainment is always great and free. A must visit if you're in the area especially in summer, check the website for details of entertainment and opening times. The food we had was tasty and cheap at â¬8 beer about â¬3 33cl. Will return with the family next month. Been coming here for years! Another change of management, nobody stays too long no idea why it's a good position and draws the punters!

Great local Italian eatery, cozy decor, with friendly service. Pizzas were awesome. Very good dough and choices of flavors/toppings. Five stars well deserved!!
