Although we were staying at The Capitan Suizo we wanted to take the opportunity to eat in the local restaurants. We had walked along the beach into the town and found that some of the ones we had researched and were recommended on TripAdvisor were on the side of the main road which is unpaved and extremely dusty so we opted to walk a little way out of town and onto a side road where La Cave Langosta is situated. We were in Tamarindo over the weekend and booking was recommended for a Saturday night, this was arranged by the friendly and helpful receptionist at the hotel. We arrived and were greeted warmly and given a lovely table under a fan which was very welcome as although most of the restaurant is open air it was a very warm evening. A jug of water menus arrived with a board of specials, no wine list? We were impressed with choices, I ordered a house salad the steak tartre, husband lobster crème soup and pork medallions in Dijon mustard sauce. Wine,"just come with me", Wine is kept on an enormous "cave" within the restaurant, no listings, the price of the wine is on a label on the top of the bottle! Our meal was superb, the best steak tartre I've had apart from our favourite restaurant in Sangatte in France. The owner who is a real French gentleman introduced himself and asked if we had enjoyed our meal, did we enjoy it, yes , so much can we book for tomorrow night please? Bien sure was the reply. Sunday evening were opted to just a main course, my lamb skewers were tender, pink and herby, husbands steak with pepper sauce(his all time favourite) bought a smile of pure delight with each mouthful. Its a pity the La Cave is closed on a Monday as we may well have been tempted to go again. It was well worth the short walk to La Cave, thankyou for the wonderful food an memories.

Overpriced. Boring. Drinks are regular. Pool: no big deal. Waiters and bar tenders are as boring as the whole place is. Street sales men and women all over the Beach area offering tours, masagges, surfing lessons, etc. made it feel unsafe. Would search for other options around next time.

Trust me, being a foodie from Los Angeles has afforded me the opportunity to enjoy many great eats from around the world. Although, I have not traveled to Italy, I imagine that Enea's is a part of Italy that has miraculously transported itself to Tamarindo, Costa Rica. This hidden gem is off of the main strip and wonderfully so. You get to enjoy some of the best homemade food in the seclusion of a private, quiet, and quaint tropical setting... not to mention, great service! I can't say enough about this place. This family run Villa sports the BEST restaurant in Costa Rica. Patrick, the Chef is phenomenal and has cooked for royalty and many US Presidentâs.The food is exquisite, perfectly executed and incredible tasting. Dean (Patrickâs son) loves to fish and the specialty of the day is always his catch. Fantastic family, super friendly (you are welcomed like an old friend) , we went twice and could have ate there again and again. Simply the BEST! Thank you!

Very cool atmosphere with first rate food.The staff was amazing, Carmenere very nice and the food was lovely (pizzas, carpaccio, bruschetta were all very tasty and filling).The staff treated us to a passion fruit liqueur that was the perfect cap to a great evening.Highly recommended place to spend an evening and have a wonderful meal.thank you to share your experience! was a pleasure to have you here with us, we hope to see you soon
