Enjoy the very best of Cornish food, cooked to perfection, in this relaxed and friendly riverside location. The restaurant looks out across the beautiful River Fowey. In summer the outdoor dining terrace is perfect for a light lunch, or al fresco dining i
My wife and I stayed in the hotel over New Years, and ate at the restaurant for the special New Years celebration, so the menu will be different from the normal dinner menu. Having said that, if the regular menu is anything like what we experienced on NYE, the food will be exceptional. The menu was clearly very thoughtfully and carefully curated, with strong but beautifully balanced flavours. We were blown away.Weâve been fortunate enough to have eaten at some of Cornwallâs big name restaurants, and what we experienced at Cormorant was well up there. To top it off, the restaurant is situated in a lovely setting overlooking the river. A true hidden Gem. Would thoroughly recommend.

OK, so Lostwithiel is not the âfoodie capital of Cornwallâ nor is it amongst the trendiest of destinations in this tourist mecca but Asquiths makes the place well worth visiting! On finding that our holiday cottage was â361 ftâ from the restaurant we really had no excuse.A warm welcome followed by complimentary olives/mushrooms/tomatoes set the tone very nicely and swiftly followed by a glass of our chosen wine...my wife asked for a glass of Malbec which was provided without quibble even though it was not on the âby the glassâ list. The menu is nicely short (4/5 choices per section) but with plenty of variety. Food was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The stress that Asquiths places on sourcing quality local ingredients led us to expect something a bit special but we were delighted with just how special it turned out to be. This is high quality dining but with sensibly sized portions (by which I mean that you actually get properly fed unlike with âup itselfâ cuisine). I could rave on about my menu choices but, given my wifeâs reactions, hers were just as exceptional so weâre confident that everything else will be just as good...in fact weâre going back before we leave just to make sure! The damage came to £90 (plus tip) and, although weâre from Yorkshire, we considered that amazing value for money! The only question we were left with is...where are you all? OK, Thursday evening on what turned out to have been the hottest day of the year, ever, (everywhere except this part of Cornwall BTW) but we were the only diners! Please patronise this place if you get the chance...it would be criminal if it were to disappear because itâs a bit off the fashionable trail.

A Relaxed Waterfront Restaurant. The bright restaurant leads out onto a spacious terrace where on a sunny day you can enjoy afternoon tea (the Cornish way of course, jam first!), A pre-dinner glass of fizz, or a long and lazy lunch. It's a great spot to wa
We visited the restaurant at the end of August for a family dinner. The service was friendly and attentive and the food had the potential to be great. The raw ingredients looked good and fresh and the combinations were interesting but... everything was heavily over-salted, to the extent that I couldn't finish my main. This is such a basic error and really disappointing for an established restaurant, especially given the hefty London prices.Thank you for your comments about your recent visit to the restaurant at The Old Quay House in Fowey. I have shared your comments with the Chef and his team and we are sorry that we didn't meet your expectation during this visit. We do hope that you would visit us again in the future.Kind regardsAndries Loots

Trewithen Restaurant is one of the most renowned restaurants in Cornwall. Its reputation is founded on two key ingredients - great food and first class friendly service. Trewithen is open throughout the year, serving a varied seasonal menu to both a loyal
My wife and I was staying at a local B&B within in walking distance on Wednesday/Thursday evening and decided on the 18th to visit Trewithen as having read Tripadvisor reviews. We started the evening of complimentary bread with Cornish butter/Olive Oil and Balsamic/Curried Butter( excellent) followed with starters of local Fowey Mussels £7.50 ( the best fat meaty mussels we've had for ages... terrific). For mains ( choice of 2 extra side dishes) Grilled Hake Fillet on Saffron Risotto, Brown Shrimp &Smoked Chilli Salsa £20.00 plus my choice of Vegetables and Cornish Dauphinois ( lovely fish and risotto plus my greedy Dauphinois... I ate toooo much). My wife had the Battered Fish with Pea and Mint Crush, Home made Caper Mayonnaise and Chunky Chips £15.00 ( she said everything was excellent but could not eat all the chips.. Shame they were lovely crispy and fluffy inside). To accompany our meal we had a 250 ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc £9.30 , 175ml Malbec £6.10. Their service was attentive and pleasant with no service charge.

We created Pintxo to share our love for Spanish culture, sherry, wines & delicious tapas. Located on the Esplanade in Fowey, enjoy our sunny outdoor tables just a stone's throw from the harbour.
Fowey is full of pubs, bakeries, lots of places down on the riverfront...but head away from there, up to the Esplanade..and although you won't get riverside views you will get (or at least we did) great tapas, excellent selection of wines, and friendly service from enthusiastic and friendly staff. Step away from the centre and enjoy some great tapas...thank you, loved it.

Our family stayed for 4 nights at Stonerush Lakes in August. The choices in the restaurant were many,we ate three times during our stay as the site its self is fairly isolated which is what we were after. The chef and the restaurant start do a fantastic job with a great choice of fresh and tasty options and really reasonable prices. We would highly recommend booking a table if you are in the area.Thank you for your great review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your meal with us and hope to welcome you back again soon.

Visited for lunch on Easter Monday with my wife and her sisterThe hotel overlooks Talland Bay and has some wonderful, quirky artefacts in the superbly, tendered gardens. We decided to eat in the conservatory as the weather was just starting to turn a little chilly. I can imagine that the outside dining area is fantastic in the warmer July and August days.We ordered sourdough breads for starters - more than enough to have one between two - we had one each and it was too much.We had grilled Lemon Sole, Haddock / Chips and Duck for main courses. All of the food was very fresh and tasty.Service was excellent - the waiting staff are extremely professional and friendly. Our lunch worked out at £40 per head including wine. This represented good value for money considering the quality, service and location.Recommend for somewhere to go for a special occasion or simply to avoid the crowds and enjoy the view!

This was recommended to us and did not dissapoint, friendly staff, varied choices on menu. We both had different types of fish which were both fantastic. Reasonably priced and nicely decorated.

Visited Richard and his team twice during our stay in Polperro this year. Consistently fantastic service and outstanding food with very reasonable prices considering the quality. This will always be one of our favourite restaurants, just a shame it's so far from home.
