The apostrophe By Frédéric Garrivier Created in 2009 by Frédéric and his wife Catherine. When we discovered the town of Paray the monial, to settle in the Charolais was as obvious: At the junction of our roots, Macon and Roanne. After our gastronomic jour
First, a good advice: book ahead because this restaurant is not number one in Paray le Monial for no reasons... Especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. So yes, the menu is quite inventive, proposing local products in an original tasty way. The lamb in a brick sort of roll was to die for. The cannelloni of snails very interesting and full of flavours. As for the desert, you have to order them at the beginning which is of good omens. The all experience was really worth it!Of course the wine is a bit pricy as it can be in a restaurant of such quality, especially when my husband and I have opposite preferences and ordered half a bottle of red and half of white. Both were gorgeous.Friendly attentive but discreet service.

The main restaurant was renovated for its centenary and has retained an old-time charm and atmosphere of bygone days. Air-conditioning is installed in the two dining rooms, one of which is specially reserved for groups
We really enjoyed our meal here. The food is very good as are the wines; the dining room is a small, high ceilinged and quite lovely place to enjoy a meal and the value for money was excellent. The only thing letting the whole lot down was a new waiter, hopelessly under trained by his employer. Having our order taken took an aeon, Aperitifs arrived only just before entrees, bread arrived with mains so missed out on being enjoyed with our soup and the entire service was sloppy and painful to watch! This was not our new waiters fault but rather the fault of an employer that puts an inexperienced staff member on the front line with inadequate training & supervision. But despite this, it was still a very enjoyable evening.

We had our dinner reserved in this restaurant by the tour operator. They ordered breaded fish and rice for our group. At first, the bread served to us with liver pate was good for a starter. I love bread so I asked for seconds. But when the fried fish meal was served to us, I was so disappointed by the way the rice was cooked. It was still crunchy and undercooked. Almost all of us in the group didn't eat the rice because of the fear of having gas pains afterwards. So I just feasted with the fish and bread. We had an extra order of steak and it was good.
