Gloucester's only fine dining restaurant, quality fresh food with excellent formal service. A must for every foodie.
Stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights, had the full English breakfast and an evening meal.Food was absolutely fabulous, good quality, well cooked and well presented, staff excellent and prices reasonable - except bottles of sparkling water at unbelievable cost of £5 per bottle!!!! Rip off.

We wanted a lightish lunch and both chose the Golden Beetroot with creme fraiche, hazelnuts and pea shoots starter, followed by pan roasted sea bream with shredded Savoy cabbage, peas and mushrooms in a light sauce. Both courses were exactly right and nicely presented. We had a glass of Cranberry and pomegranate juices, which were not too sweet. Finishing with our usual americanos with hot milk, we had an inexpensive leisurely lunch served well.
We use fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. We are passionate about anything that can be put on the table. We offer a casual dining experience and serve the classics well.
I booked a table for 5 for lunch a week in advance. Please note - booked. When we turned up we were informed that the restaurant had taken an outside catering job that day and consequently because they didn't have their chefs they had cancelled the lunchtime menu and we would have to order from the breakfast menu. 2 of the party felt that this was unacceptable and left. The 3 of us made the best of it & ordered Haddock Omelette and an egg & spinach dish which I can't remember the title of. It then transpired that they were fresh out of Haddock & Spinach, so we had plain omelette & poached egg.for lunch. They shouldn't have taken the booking.Outrageous.Hi Nick,Iâm so sorry to hear that you didnât enjoy your experience with us. We have always tried to ensure we give our customers a high standard of service and food. We have catering events every weekend but there is always a chef in BIRCH when we serve food. We serve a breakfast/brunch menu on a Saturday as weâre incredibly busy and this ensures we can serve people quickly whilst maintaining our high standards. We were extremely busy on the day you visited and we unexpectedly ran out of a few of the menu items. I will message you independently in order to make sure your next visit to BIRCH is satisfactory.

Been here a few times and itâs such a good place for breakfast or lunch, reasonably priced and you can eat indoors or out. Had the Eggs Benedict this time and although they were nice, there was something odd about the hollandaise I couldnât put my finger on. It was oddly sweet and not as sharp as Iâd expect. I should have mentioned it at the time, so donât be put off.

Lovely local restaurant, have eaten there a few times with friends & everyone has always had good meals. The service is always friendly & attentive, it is always busy & for good reason. Think over all value & portions good, have had the starter size risotto for main before. Extensive menu choice which normally makes me nervous about quality but between us we have had several dishes & all the starters & mains are fab, especially the risottos. But feel the desserts are disappointing (tiramsu is OK) after the choice & quality of other courses. Luckily always full after main but would love to have choice of really good home made Italian desserts.

I visited Toniâs Kitchen for the first time this week after hearing raving reports on this fine Italian hot spot in the Cotswolds and it far exceeded my expectations. Booking to be advised as I understand people are beginning to travel from other counties to experience what this place has to offer. With a warm, welcoming and intimate interior, the knowledgable and attentive front of house staff showered us with the best of Italian hospitality. The ever changing menu was peppered full of a variety of dishes to suit every palette and dietary requirement. I struggled to choose between the dishes on offer - each one sounding staggeringly good. Toniâs Kitchen proudly displays a sign above the kitchen door - âour happy placeâ and how fitting. The head chef and owner Jason Orsi is clearly more than a chef- he is an artist at work. Everything on the menu is all made freshly in house, from ravioli to ice cream, created from a palette of ingredients and condiments that are responsibly and carefully sourced for their quality, sustainability and taste. Not forgetting younger guests- children are welcomed and can choose from the main menu too; a whole family dining experience- typical of the welcoming and inclusive culture that sets Italy apart. The garden is also worth a mention - plenty of outdoor dining space that is trailing with edibles growing from every corner which I am told is used on the restaurant menu - Jerusalem artichokes form a windbreak and an attractive screen and appears on the menu in a gratin and Nasturtiums brighten borders as well as the humous appetiser that is jewelled with pomegranate and accompanied by fresh in-house baked loaves. I can honestly say that I ate the best meal of my life in Toniâs Kitchen and will be returning very soon. My advice to anyone who is visiting anywhere near the Cotswolds is to visit this charming little piece of Italy and for those who follow the finest, keep your eye on this place. We left feeling more than satiated and were taken on a memorable culinary and cultural journey.
