Great little family run restaurant, with lots and lots of character, situated in a couple of typical mountain village houses, tucked away in one of the back streets of Pampaneira. You can sit outside in a narrow street, in a covered passageway between the houses or inside. We sat in the passageway which meant we were still outside but out of the sun. We went for the steak. On the menu it said it was big but when it came it was huge, it almost filled the whole plate. We were glad we had decided to have it between us. We asked for it to be cooked medium, but when we cut into it, it was very rare, so we sent it back. When it came back it was still medium rare but we did not have the heart to send it back again as 'Nan' the cook and the rest of her family had been so friendly and nice. Its obvious that the Spanish don't like to overcook their meat.Lovely meat very tender with real baked potatoes with a thick well cooked skin.Staff were really friendly even though non of them except Nan spoke English. But we managed fine. Great experience, not the best meal we have ever eaten but certainly on of the nicest and interesting places we have eaten. Just one suggestion they need to provide steak knives as the meat was very difficult to cut with the knives provided. To find the Bodega Asador El Lagar - Go to the Main Square / Church, standing in front of the church door look to the left hand corner of the square. See a path leading downhill with water running down the centre and narrow cobblestone path on each side. Go down to the very bottom of this path, at bottom see sign to supermarket pointing left, you turn right, go up a narrow street, the Bodega Asador is up this street on your right.

Nice comfortable restaurant below a rustic Spanish hotel. Food order fried to be taken before drinks were ordered, no wine recommendations just a list with no descriptions. Bread given but no butter, just some dry olives and what I presume was homemade hummus. No starters on the menu just sharing ones and then there is only 3 of them. Main course was very limited also, 3 of us had steak and the 4th lamb. The steak was very tough and was served with shredded fried potatoes, lambs tongue lettuce, rubbery mushrooms and very aldente carrots. The lamb looked good but had to be sent back as it wasnât cooked in the middle, when it came back it looked like it had been attacked by a chainsaw. Didnât eat it but still got charged for it. Deserts were homemade and very nice. â¬170 for 4 people was a tad dear compared to what you can get if you look around. Top marks for the restaurant though, nice ambience just very expensive and not of the quality that it thinks it is.

This restaurent is worth visiting for the building alone, a great piece of modern design. Fortunately the food is very good as well and the prices are quite reasonable. We shared the berenjenas con miel as a starter, more than sufficient for two and I had tuna and my wife had the salmon. ¡Muchas gracias!

Following a recommendation to stop at Lanjaron on the way to Granada I found this place by accident. Great ham selection. Would have tried more glasses of wine (and complimentary tapas) if I wasn't driving. Thank you very much for your comment. Next time come without a car to taste the wine better. We work every day to keep improving.

Went a couple of times while in Orgiva. Food was very tasty and well priced and the service was brilliant. Garlic chicken very garlicky. The place opens earlier than most places too which is good as we liked to be back to our villa before dark (alarming roads)

We'd walked past this pretty courtyard bar several times since our arrival in Orgiva just over a month ago but it wasn't until last weekend that we popped in for a lunchtime drink. We hadn't planned to eat here; however, with every glass of beer (2,20 euros), we were brought a delicious plate of free tapas. First tuna and red peppers, then spicy pork and finally ribs. We vowed to return, which we did today and again enjoyed the variety and quality of tapas on offer: fish salad, another spicy pork dish and finally fish balls. Yesterday, in Padul, we paid a similar price for beer but didn't even get an olive with our drinks which made us realise what excellent value this place is. We hope to go again for a proper meal before we leave the Alpujarras in three weeks' time.

Desde El Mes De Noviembre Del 2017 Estamos En Avenida Gonzälez Robles 3 A La Entrada Del Pueblo Junto A La Gasolinera Pequeña.
We had good reports on this restaurant as being the best in Orgiva. Sadly we found this not to be the case on our visit. The food was ok but not what I would call exceptional. The pricing was on the high side for what we were served. Don`t think we will visit again.

Located past the church heading downhill on the left you come across La Almazara. Tables and seating are spread out on a stoney area, trees and large patio shades offer a cosines and it feels very relaxed. There is also an indoor area. The staff were very nice, happy and smiling. The menu had English translation. Full bar also available. Pizza is the main focus however there were plenty of other choices too. You never felt cramped at all such is the space outside. The service was good, not rushed or overbearing. Our food was well presented, tasty and well priced. Overall a good place for an evening meal in Ãrgiva.
