Greek Restaurant With Authentic Dishes From Traditional To Modern Ones. Our Motto Is To Serve Fine Food With Good Service In Greek Modern Atmosphere.
Last weekend we decided last moment to go to Leiden for a day. Normally we like to prepare and see what restaurant to eat at. This time we chose last moment for Rodos (also because some others were closed) and we were positively surprised! The restaurant is very beautiful, cozy but modern at the same time. As it was calm in the restaurant (we arrived around 14.00) the service was amazing and very personal. We had a nice chat with the waiter and (I think) the owner. The food, just great! I can recommend for lunch to take three dishes. We were with two persons (a couple) and took salmon with pita, souvlaki with pita and a kind of pizza/pita with feta cheese. Great choice and we really enjoyed our lunch. Would always recommend to go here when you are in Leiden.

We chose this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. Having read rather old reviews, we thought the â¬75 per person menu, matching wines to each dish would suit us. It is not our intention to insult the chef but only one dish was well prepared, The red wine served with it was a mismatch. We left thinking that there was neither flair in the cooking nor intuition when choosing wines to accompany the food. The lovely waitress repeated over and over her "set script" to the diners, who appeared to be tourists as we were. We thought it over priced and very pretentious to the point of discomfort.

This was one of my most enjoyable dining experiences. The setting was perfect in this converted warehouse and the service was as good as it gets - welcoming and knowledgeable. The chef's menu was creative and perfectly delivered. Just the right portion sizes. Excellent wines by the glass to complement a series of well-crafted and presented courses.

This restaurant really lives up to its amazing reviews! The building itself is a period building with beautiful finishes. There is a stunning staircase going upstairs with a beautiful ceiling. We started with gin cocktails. The gin menu is extensive - They even divide it by sorts of gin - citrusy, fruity, classic - etc. I think that they have near on 40 different gin based cocktails. I had a monkey 47 - it was made to perfection. We did not have a starter as we decided to have one of the cowboy 1kg steaks with some side dishes. We have the Austrian Cowboy steak which was cooked perfectly to our taste. If you choose a cowboy steak you are presented with a range of knives to choose from - itâs so impressive. Our meal was outstanding - the meat was amazing and we had great sides including mixed veg and mushrooms. They served fries with the meal but we were not keen on filling ourselves with potato. We were too full for dessert so had some port.Service was great.Food was outstanding.Drinks menu is extensive and reasonable - we also had a bottle of wine and were surprised by how reasonable it was. They have water from their own spring so once youâve purchased your first bottle it is refilled at a reasonable cost. The restaurant is about 15 mins walk from Leiden station.

It was raining, and we arrived early. We were the only patrons in the establishment and the hosts allowed us to sit and wait until the restaurant opened for dinner. We were very happy and very touched that they allowed us to sit at a table with beverage (I had the beer, she had the wine) and unwind after a fun day museum hopping. The atmosphere is incredible relaxed and indulging. Our hosts were exceedingly gracious and offered to be top our beverages with the warning that they would be sitting to eat their dinner before the restaurant opened to serve the dinner menu. We were treated very well. The other patrons soon started to arrive, and we were not pushed, or hurried, or fussed over. Instead, we graciously waited on and served with genuine smiles, and heartfelt polite demeanor. The kitchen opened to serve dinner. We asked for the tuna sashimi, the smoked salmon, and the duck as appetizers. The salmon melted in our mouths, the tuna was fresh and so tender. The duck was was equally delicious. The rain continued outside, while we were happy and comforted by the hosts inside. We ordered our main course, I had the rabbit and was blown away by the succulent flavors that were exploding with every bite, leaving longing for more--a masterpiece by the chef! She had the sea bass which was light and delectable!Dessert for me is always the crème brûlée if itis on the menu. I was not disappointed, rich, yet soft, delicious, and savory. It makes you understand that this is what crème brûlée is supposed to taste, feel, consist, and achieve: a taste of heaven with every spoonful! The rain had stopped, and the night air was crisp, and fresh, and invigorating from the near sleep inducing comfort provided by our hosts. We practically closed the place along with our hosts and we were sad to leave, but it is a night we will always remember and be grateful to have been fortunate enough to have experienced the culinary magic and delightful atmosphere of De Jonker.Thank you to our wonderful hosts for an experience unmatched by others.

High class service, topfood served in a fine, relaxed atmosphere. Established in 1997, more than twenty years Leiden's finest!
A great restaurant offering high end food at reasonable prices. We did the â¬80 a head mid week meal not realising that this also included a flight of wines to pair with every course. Water and coffee was complimentary which really gave an overall feeling of exemplary service. Food fantastic and service great and price reasonable. What more can you ask for!Definitely will be going back
