Reviews on European food in Nieblum, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany including Altes Landhaus, Namine Witt, Midlumer Krog

The restaurant Altes Landhaus is in a quiet location not far from the centre of Nieblum. They offer nothing fancy but gut solid fare that is well presented and excellently cooked. Particularly fish should be regarded as their speciality and is always worth a try. Service can be a bit over-efficient (I know that sounds impossible but believe me they manage to do exactly that). Which means if you want to order two drinks, for example, â letâs say a glass of water AND a glass of wine â make sure you grab them by their shirt sleeves first and get a good grip. Otherwise theyâll be halfway back to the kitchen by the time you have finished the word âwaterâ. The restaurant is open every day except Tuesdays from 12pm â 2pm and from 6pm - about 10pm. The lunch menu is a scaled-down version of the evening menu! Recommended.

We stopped in after visiting the Nieblum church and cemetery. Lunch was perfect. Tortellini, a salad of tomatoes and mozzarella, and an antipasto plate - everything well seasoned and fresh. You order inside and they bring the food to your table - inside or out.

So I'm here on the island, visiting my in laws and I had been warned to expect to eat well. This was the best meal of the visit so far.I had the Rumpsteak, done medium rare (don't dare ruin a good steak!) Along with croquettes and broccoli. It was served with a little garlic butter and appeared to have been seared on a flat grill. It was tender and absolutely delicious!I believe its always on the menu and not to be missed!
