The very small restaurant is simply the best. The owner takes pride in using own / local produce.The serving is not fast, so if you want a quick meal better not go. But the relax pace gives you time to enjoy the food. The owner has made it an art to pair the right olive oil with the right dish.We had a super Rose ( Château Demonpère, Cuvée Prestige, 2018).

Smallish cafe/restaurant in a residential area about 10 minutes walk from the tram line. Not touristy at all, and refreshingly unstuffy. Friendly welcome, and an English-speaking waitress to help us decipher the dishes. There's a small range of dishes (about 12) which are changed weekly. Good food with some imaginative twists. Mains are around 12-14 euros, which is excellent value considering the quality. I doubt this really is the best restaurant in Nice, but it's a great combination of friendly service, and good-value food which is definitely a cut above the normal restaurant fare. Easy to see why it's so popular with the locals.

Glad we had a reservation as it soon started to fill up and I soon found out why. My partner and I had copy cat orders and NOT disappointed. Our starter was mozzarella burritina covered with a type of pesto ...loved it.... with a small piece of bacon...along side a scoop of sherbet. Then came the best part which was the nice piece of veal over a mashed potato that was hard to figure out although, the potato could have had some grits and perhaps some cheese mixed in to fool the tongue...then a red wine reduction to drag your meat though. Top off the meal with a great red Rhone wine to swill it down. Then came the best part of the meal for the second time...dessert was a scoop of strawberry sorbet alongside a nice scoop of chocolate mousse that was to die for. ..with a dollop of caramel...and a huge blackberry and raspberry. We took our time with that for sure. We finished with an espresso and macaron. The only thing missing was a cigarette! We could not have been happier. Best meal yet in Nice! This lovely cafe offers excellent food, friendly service and is a great value. The sea bass was perfectly prepared and the pork ribs were tender and flavorful. The menu is presented on iPad, and written phonetically, which makes for a very unique experience. The server provides assistance if needed. The café gourmand featured delicious chocolate moose along with a tasty portion of creme brûlée. They are also child friendly.

Fantastic little gem. Stopped in for a quick lunch before a day of adventuring. Owner is lovely, food is equally as good. And so cheap! 2 of the deluxe burgers, fries and drinks for 19 euro. Burgers were excellent, fries and sauces wonderful. Service is genuinely friendly. Ps the 2 reviews that gave 1 star both appear to be fake. Ignore those. This is 5 star considering price point for quality!

Stopped by here for a quick lunch and was very impressed.We had the fish with Provençal batter which was delicious.Chips were well cooked and crunchy.Salads and sauces were lovely.Excellent service, and the young lady serving spoke English very well which was really helpful.Excellent all round.

Very nice and cosy restaurant, with the most friendly personnel I have ever met! The food has a lot of taste and it is made with a lot of attention, in contrast to the âtourist trapsâ in the city. It is really worth to travel those 3km from the promenade.

We had an incredible dinner at JAN while spending a short three days in Nice. We booked about a month in advance and our excitement to dine here was met with creative, inventive and unique courses, course after course after course. We choose the seven course tasting menu with wine pairings and were delightfully impressed. After dinner, Jan himself showed my husband and me his beautiful restaurant, Maria by JAN across the street, a tribute to his grandmother who recently passed which would be an amazing place for a special private dinner party location. My only suggestion would be to scale down the portion sizes as there was so much food that it was difficult to fully enjoy the last couple of delightful plates placed in front of us.

If you are in nice you have to go here! Lovely service and you can see how much effort and passion goes into the food.I had the vegetarian pizza with a spicy drizzle and it was so so delicious and only â¬7 which is such a bargain. Compared to tourist traps with mediocre service that will charge you 15⬠for some okay gnocchi; this little restaurant will give you delicious food for a fraction of the price.It may be unassuming from the outside but it's amazing! Merci vous avez compris notre philosophie. Il vaut mieux privilégier lâassiette et les bons produits quâune devanture modeste.
