Always go by your recommendations so when I entered best Sunday lunch and Orestone Manor came up I booked I was advised the time shiw on there site was incorrect and we were booked in at 12.15 lunch time I stated I was allergic to Black peppers he went away to the Chef then came back to us saying all of there Sunday roasts were drenched in pepper all night and the roast potatoes I have never come across this before as they were advertising the roasts Beef,pork Chicken you would have thought that one of the three would have been supplied without adding pepperes I had to end up with fish for Sunday lunch not what I wanted I think they should advertise that they add these allergic items so people are aware Graham Thurston the fish was very good and the serviceWe are please you enjoyed the fish and service. Our website does clearly state our dinning times . However as with all restaurants time slots do get booked up. It sounds to me 12.15 was the only time slot we had available when you booked. I see from your booking that you booked through open table ( a third party booking agent). If you had phoned us directly we would have asked if you had any dietary requirements. We would have been more than happy to accommodate your pepper allergy had we known. Unfortunately the nature of a roast is the preparation beforehand hence the inflexibility. The Orestone Manor does always try to accommodate all allergies but it is best that we know upon booking. We do hope we can welcome you back to The Orestone but please phone us directly next time.

We missed our train home so had an hour to kill. We looked at some of the cafes and restaurants.......then we stumbled upon this restaurant. Certainly a rare find and very special to Newton Abbot.What a lovely atmosphere in this obviously family run business. They pride themselves on originality and the tapas food did not disappoint. I also enjoyed a bottle of San Miguel but noted that there were several Portuguese beers and various take home foods available.The staff were very attentive and extremely helpful assisting us to select our choice from the menu, which was delicious.We had to leave in a bit of a rush to avoid missing the next train. Unfortunately we left a document on the table. A very big thank you to one of the staff who actually ran after us all the way to the station and even jumped onto the train in order to hand it back to us. Thank you very much.Oh and yes we will be back. After all a place as special as this is not easy to find.

Most meals are between £3.50 and £5.00 served in cardboard takeaway boxes. You can either sit outside in the sunshine watching the busy market square, or takeaway. The food is beautifully cooked, and the lovely ladies who run the places are friendly and knowledgeable about the food. You can see them cooking it. We go there often when we visit the town.
