La Colombe, one of Cape Town's most well-loved and awarded restaurants. Contemporary French-meets-Asian fine dining.
First class service here with food superbly cooked and presented with excellent flavoursWonderful atmosphere looking out on the mountains opposite, bliss. This is a must when visiting Cape Town, we always book early and have been eating in La Colombe when in the Cape for over 18 years.even before they were at Constantia Nek.

The Conservatory, situated adjacent to the historic Cellars-Hohenort cellar, offers diners unparalleled garden vistas from both the sun-drenched terrace and the indoor tables. Carefully constructed around a giant 300-year-old oak tree, The Conservatory is
I had a wonderful Caesar salad with just the right combo of anchovy, bacon bits, cheese and, to crown it off, a crumbed, poached egg with a melty, yolky middle. It was as yummy as the view of the trees and the incredible, formidable oak smack-bang in the middle of the restaurant! Also, the bread basket is irresistible! The presentation is also worthy of comment...Dear LaurenShantall,Thank you for the feedback. I must agree with you - the Caesar salad is definitely a great dish.Looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future - if you have not visited already.Kind regards,Angie

This is still our all time fav for late afternoon lunch and cocktails. The best option on the menu is the burger. What a treat and showstopper. One of my guests opted for the beer battered hake - she loved it. Well, guess you can't go wrong here. Oh yes - wonderful history of Lady Ann Barnard.

Four & Twenty is a Cafe & Pantry. We have created a space in which the adoration of food is center stage and the utter joy of living is celebrated as a way of life. The food is as playful and quirky as it is passionate and skillful - and the menu changes
My girlfriends and I met for breakfast and share these sentiments. The place is so cute, love the set up and decor and the atmosphere is the perfect balance of chic yet warm and relaxed. Good variety of great dishes at excellent prices, however the food itself was...well...meh. I gave this feedback to the waitress as well - it looked so pretty on the plate but the flavour was so average. We didn't experience a single thing on our plates that raised our brows in delight, made us moan or lingered in memory in any way - it was just average. I also asked to try their Chillicious paste - luckily i did before purchasing as it would've been a waste - it tasted of nothing.Their coffee was great and apparently the cakes and sweet goodies are too.As for the staff - very friendly - our waitress however,OVERLY and annoyingly so. She was just too text book "Yes absolutely, with utmost pleasure and delight, you are absolutely most very welcome to have this or that, and you most certainly may this and most certainly may that" for EVERY little thing was just too much and unfortunately it felt unauthentic. We actually weren't sure if this was her natural demeanour or if she was acting. Four & Twenty, this is sincere feedback and I hope it helps you understand and improve where you feel you need to.

The Square Restaurant is a magnificent glass-roofed restaurant with tranquil green surrounds. The indoor trees make one feel in tune with nature and create an intimate atmosphere, which compliments the superb cuisine. This wonderful ambience is enhanced b
I am staying with good friends a short walk away in Newlands and they know The Vineyard well being long time Residents here.We walked across for dinner this evening having made a reservation for 7.30 pm at The Square.Tastefully decorated with soft music being played in the background. The place was reasonably crowded when we arrived.A fairly limited dinner menu including the Chefs Specials, Salads, Soups, Mains and Desserts. The lady went for the Salmon Trout Roulade for her starter followed by the Beef Burger with Cheddar Cheese and a portion of Chips for her mains. Her husband and I both opted for the Chefs 2 Course menu. I had the steamed Hake followed by the Neck of Lamb with Chickpea Biryani. My friend had the same Mains but had the Fig Tart with Gorgonzola cheese for his starter.Adequate portions and good quality food was the unanimous consensus. We had a bottle of Cabernet Merlot 2013 from the Constantia region which went really well with our meal.We passed on desserts. Reasonably priced.Service was acceptable although not outstanding. The Vineyard is an old established Hotel in the area and is set in well landscaped gardens. The Square is one of several restaurants here and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Authentic Italian Food We specialize in fresh, home-style Italian fare & seasonal ingredients, with an emphasis on simplicity and flavour. A Tavola brings the real taste of Italy to the leafy suburbs of Claremont. Our open piazza-style dining and relaxed
We went to this restaurant on a whim, the guy doing our telephone booking was very friendly and efficient. However, that's where the good service ended. Arriving there the restaurant was packed, so we thought that this was the place to be. Wrong! The food is completely overpriced (fix your price range here please, it's much more expensive). You do not get what you pay for. The staff are friendly, but service is so slow. After ordering our mains, it took so long to come, and we thought it was because the restaurant was busy. However, looking into the kitchen, some staff were standing there eating while we were waiting for how long to get our food. Mains finally came, and what had to be a lovely pasta with Italian sausage, seemed more like a watered-down bolognese - and for a ridiculous price. We were asked about dessert, but by the time we could grab someone (not our waiter!) I was just ready to go home. Where was our waiter? Drinking tea and chatting with his buddy behind the bar. I will not recommend, unless you have lots of money to spend and don't know how to cook.

Join the Social Table for a totally unique dining concept. An eclectic space to eat, drink and be merry with some fabulous company. Table d' Hote style eatery with a set 5 course dinner, paired with boutique wines from around the Western Cape. Perfect for
We were a little nervous about trying this social table concept because weâre not the most social people but we are sooooo glad we decided to give it a try! The atmosphere is super cosy and friendly inside the restaurant. The owner Julia and her sous-chef Melissa are so genuinely friendly and passionate about food that they really made this experience extraordinary for us! Most of their customers are tourists so it allows for meeting people from all around the world and sharing travel experiences. Julia has selected some local wines and then drew up her menu based on the pairing with the wines. The menu features local seasonal vegetables, oysters, king clip, ostrich, beef two ways, and of course a delicious dessert! Every plate was thought out to perfection with lots of flavors that complimented the wines perfectly! All the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, and we loved tasting high end South African food! We loved when Julia took time to sit at the table with us to join the conversation. Everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! We loved everything and had the most wonderful and memorable evening! Thank you so much!

I have been going to Basilico for a while and it is really a lovely pizza place with plenty of seating and a good lunch special (significantly reduced price for 2 topping pizzas). Their pizza is thin and crispy, with plenty of quality toppings. Unfortunately I cannot recommend their pasta as they are just okay, nothing to write home about. Service is very inconsistent, very much waiter dependent. Sometimes itâs okay, other times the waiters are abrupt.

A proper Italian trattoria, run by a warm Italian Family; whoâs hospitality and Italian flare fun through to their gracious and smiling staff. Fantastic menu - too many temptations that it took me ages to decide what to eat. As it was Italian I thought best to check out the pasta on my first visit (Iâll be back to work my way through the menu!). The carbonara was faultless- absolutely delicious and generous portions. Canât wait to go back!
