My wife and I are retired Canadian professionals living in Frankfurt for 18 months. Today, between Christmas and New Years Eve, it was overcast and foggy and wet, and we decided to explore the narrow cobblestone streets of the incredibly beautiful little towns of Kronberg and Konigstein, with their timeless estate/residences. We had made reservations at Miro's (highly recommended) because we assumed, rightly, that the local residents would be a good gastronomical influence! Miros is located on a hillside overlooking the valley below. The exterior is unassuming; the interior is very nicely decorated, warm and welcoming, with linen tablecloths. The owner himself seated us at a table with a view.If readers look at the comments on the attached photos, they will see why we were so delighted with the meal. The flavours and presentation were excellent. The ambience is such that families will enjoy dining, as well as couples looking for a memorable experience. (Why dine at other fine restaurants where the stuffy, stiff formality creates gastric ulcers?)The cost of the meals is entirely reasonable for the high quality and absolute professionalism. We will be back again to explore the menu. Bravo Mirwais!Thank you very much! You have to come back on a sunny day to take a look out of our windows an to see the great panorama. And of course, to explore the menu.We are looking forward to see you, kind regardsMiro

The walk from Saalburg Ruins to this restaurant is some 4 kilometres, you can drive of course but we all chose to walk. The walk up was on a slight incline all the way and views of Frankfurt to die for., once there, warm and friendly atmosphere with hand case mit musik wonderful and a large variety of beer, wine and schnapps. English and most nationalities frequent so they understood what we all had to say in varying languages. The food is good, well prices (not expensive at all) and the views are wonderful. Staff and warm and welcoming and the chef even comes out to check all is well also. When we were there the tables were all pretty much full but we didnt have to wait more than a minute., so well worth the visit. Memorable.

A very pleasant surprise on a cold winter evening, this romantic restaurant with really good food and wine; I had a celery cream and a char fish with a curry sauce (a rather rare and tasty sweet water fish coming from circumpolar regions of Norway and Sweden), near a well suggested Riesling; both dishes, as well as the house starters were more than I expected, great cooking and friendly service; worth more visits :)

We were looking for a reasonably priced, local, authentic German food. This certainly hit the spot. They did not have an English menu and the waitress said she did not speak English, but she came back with her husband, the cook/owner who explained the items on the menu for us They had a diversified menu which included game dishes. I ended up with a wild pig (boar) bratwurst with fries and salad. With the beer, the total was about 9 euros! It was all very tasty. My wife had a pork steak topped with camembert which was also very good.We loved this restaurant (also has a nice view), and the owners who made sure we had everything we wanted. We recommend highly.

Outside of the big city you need a finger pointing to see the special locations. This is one!A very nice little, family-cruised restaurant with much love to quality food and wine. The location at the old marketplace has an 18th century flair and the building is lovely renewed - combining old and new elements. Outside is a nice great place with much running ground for children. So inside it could be crowded and a call ahead is not optional. This is a very good location for people loving 'love-food'.Around a 20km perimeter - I think this place has the best cooked food.If you are for a business trip around - and want something special for your hosts/partners in the outskirts - this is also a good place to go.

I could not possibly tell you how often and with which variety of friends, business partners and family from all over the planet we have enjoyed food and service here in the past, but this month we were a party of 16 celebrating my birthday (see also hotel comment). The Bauers and team have taken pain and effort to upgrade the premises and have been rewarded with a bunch of loyal gourmets who like to come on all kind of occasions. In preparation of chosing menu, wines and decoration, Mr. Bauer's professional advice and willingness to listen combined with strong desire to please combined with the entire team's readiness to go the extra mile e tial a most perfect impression by each of my guests from all generations and myself as host to the event. From sparkling for reception to a quick beer for a late guest stressed out by traffic jams, through pefect attention to water and wine over dinner, through a most delicious suite of dishes served after careful coordination between host and kitchen, service with the extra smile and questions that show knowledge, professionalism, dedication to serve and excell and really make EVERYBODY feel special guest of the day....I cannot think of anything else to say to eluge the experience.Food is simply delicious, generous helpings and prepared to perfection. Even a late cheese snack.THANK YOU so much, we shall certainly be back.

Stayed here for 1 night on business. The staff were excellent, especially Yvonne who was tireless and professional despite a large group of multinationals having a very late and heavy night - she deserves a medal! The food was excellent both in the evening and the morning at breakfast. Again the staff were superb at breakfast and very helpful with their level of service. I'd thoroughly recommend this place - it's in the middle of nowhere but means it's nice and quiet with no traffic noise.

Perfect for people who love the nature, have kids, dogs, bikes... We went to this restaurant after a hike in a forest nearby. On the menu they have mainly schnitzel and pork steaks with different side orders and sauces. We chose the pork steaks and they were delicious! We also had a sausage and cheese platter as a starter. The sausages and cheese were good but we would have expected a better bread. The bread they had was quite industrial standard sliced bread. The nice stuff would have matched perfectly with farmhouse bread.

The visit at this restaurant was a welcomed surprised. Being located in a small village in Taunus one does not expect to get extraordinary food. Well this is not the case here. Food was very tasty cooked with local fresh products and very traditional. Besides the great food they also serve a variety of traditional beers. The Biergarten completes the whole experience. If you are in the area looking for something tasty to eat this is definitely the place to go.
