It is the third largest city of Östergötland, following Linköping and Norrköping. Motala is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Vättern and is regarded as the main centre of both the Göta Canal and the surrounding lake region.

Burger and fries seems to be the thing to order. Basic eatery that delivers on expectation. Absolutely better than average fast food. Nice setting by Göta Kanal and Borenshults slussar.

Went here for a family dinner and the place was half empty. We asked to sit and got told to sit anywhere 10 minutes later we are still sitting and waiting for menus and there is no sign of staff. One of us goes in and finds 3 waitors chatting away. We get the menu and 15 min later still no sign of staff. So we go and get the waitor and finally get our order. I would have had moore understanding if the place was packed but as i said it was halfempty. The staff definitely needs a course or two in customer relations. Ive worked in hospitality for many years. The staff needs to be where the customers are and not inside gossipping about their day. The food was actually quite good But our experience was totally ruined by the lack of service.

Alltid många rätter att välja på. God husmanskost och "festligare" mat fredagar. Men alla dagar är bra. Ibland tar vissa rätter slut pga att många vill ha samma rätt. Till exempel raggmunk, kåldolmar eller annan populär maträtt under rubriken husmanskost.

The restaurant is located at Motala Bilmuseum in the harbor. The location is the best possible because the entire port area has been restored. There are also several restaurants in the area. With tables right on the quayside and stunning views, the prerequisites are the best to manage a restaurant. When it comes to the food it's OK. It took quite some time for the server even though we chose "Today's offer". The restaurant's main advantage is the location.

We all got decent (or even good) food, However, staff seemed more interested in chatting between themselves than attending to customers. And very obivously so. Great setting, good ambience, ok food, but I will not go back.

We selected this restaurant based on TA reviews. Once again we were not steered wrong by the TA community. Restaurant Lychan is a local Motala neighborhood restaurant. The staff seemed surprised to see foreigners enter their establishment; however once we were in they made effort to accommodate our lack of Swedish. Most surprising was the food. For an 'ordinary' tavern (with an interesting decor) the food was really, really good. The Schnitzel was fantastic. If you are in Motala for a few days, this would be a worth while option. Enjoy.

Completed 300 klm bike race and made really welcome with cold beer and Steak. Really nice friendly staff the place was full after 23000 Cyclists finished the race and celebrated all afternoon and evening. Beautiful location on the water. Highly recommended. Great beaches outside town

Cosy restaurant that has it all. Wonderful staff and a fantastic menu. Drink a cold beer and eat a plate of tasty chicken wings in the shade on a hot summer day and finish with an ice cream that surpasses most. Absolutely amazing place.

This place is our favourite place in Motala. Good Asian food. Always good taste, good size portions, good and consistent quality. We most often buy take out but the restaurant is quite cozy as well.
