Open 7 days a week 7.30 am - 3 pm Open for dinner by arrangement only. New Menu coming soon Catering and private functions
We were looking for a place open for lunch on Easter Sunday and came to Morrinsville on the chance something would be open. So pleased we did. Loxy's has a small frontage but that is all that is small about it! Menu or cabinet food - generous portions and all choices were delicious. A good variety of items with gluten free available. It is very family friendly and many children were there with parents. I had difficulty making a selection but settled on the waffles with " the works" Very good choice. My friend's choice from the cabinet was equally delicious. We will return.

Many moons ago I attended Morrinsville College, and have kept in touch with two of my schoolfriends and we meet up every few years. This year at Labour Weekend I was going to be spending a night in Morrinsville for some family business, so arranged to meet my two girlfriends for dinner at The Village Kitchen, after reading some reviews on TripAdvisor. I was pleased to find the restaurant as I wanted to meet in Morrinsville which held so many memories from school days.I booked via the facebook page several weeks in advance â I sent a message via Messenger and had a response very quickly. I wasnât sure if partners would be coming or not but the restaurant was very relaxed about whether it would be three or six. I also couldnât be more specific than to say âweâll be there between about 6pm and 6.30pmâ as I was coming from Thames, and one of my friends was driving from Tauranga. It was no problem to the restaurant to not have a firm arrival time.On the night I arrived first and was greeted by a welcoming gentleman who knew straight away who I was and showed me to a table. My friends showed up within five or ten minutes. Our waitress for the evening was a lovely young lady named Katie who was very attentive without being overbearing. She was very friendly and a credit to the restaurant. We shared a triple cheese garlic bread, which was a pizza base cut into 8. Very nice for sharing. For main two of us had eye fillet steak. Both were cooked to perfection to how we had asked. There was a salad, a couple of baby beetroot, and a kind of mashed potato crumbed and fried, which was very nice. We both chose the red wine jus as our sauce, and it was superb. (Iâve been watching Australian Masterchef and liked the posh sounding name of âjusâ!!)My other friend had the pork belly that looked really nice and apparently tasted nice too.Two of us had dessert, an affogato and I had the tarte de citron (lemon tart). Both were very nice. All up with two fruit juices, a sparking wine and a merlot the bill came to $169, which I thought was very reasonable for the meal we had. There werenât many other diners, but if there had have been it would have been fine as the tables are spaced a reasonable way apart. We spent a lot of the night acting like 16-year olds and giggling like schoolgirls, it was a great evening.Iâd highly recommend this restaurant â well done Morrinsville.

Newest Bristro in Town , attached to the Town n Country Club Open Thursday/Sat 5/10pm
Firstly, it is at 382 Thames Street. If you can get the quality they serve here for the price they charge here I want to know. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. And it is in a lovely Victorian styled Club atmosphere, with drinks at good prices.
We drive past this often, so it was good to stop and have a meal recently. It is pretty much standard pub fare at okay prices. $16 gets you a burger and fries. Usual tap beers and standard wines available. Locals in the pub were a pretty friendly bunch. If driving past and you need a reasonable meal then not a bad option.
